Hi Everyone

I'm pretty new to this as this is my first month trying to figure everything out.
I've taken the provera to start my period which it has and now I was told to call my dr office to schedule my hsg test.
I did this and no one got back to me. Today was the last day to have my hsg test before I start clomid.
I finally got a hold of my dr today and was told that I more than likely could start clomid tomorrow without having the hsg test done until next week.
My question is ... what is the point of taking clomid if I have blocked tubes...is it just a waste of money?
Has this happened to anyone else?

Well, I think it's in the hopes of not wasting a cycle by not using Clomid and finding out your tubes are fine. I can't tell you for sure.

I was not concerned about my tubes, so I was all over the Clomid without an HSG. My main issue was Ov'ing though... I don't Ov at all. It was my DH and I's choice, along with our RE, to postpone the HSG. We didn't do it until the second miscarriage, and that was for repeat loss testing rather than infertility testing.

So, every doctor is different. I would think yours is just trying to be proactive. But, when in doubt, ask them. It doesn't hurt to ask them, remember; it's your body and your life. You have a say in everything.

I tried 3 rounds of Clomid before my HSG, which came back clear so they def weren't wasted cycles. ITA w/ PP, every doc is different. Don't be surprised to see a WIDE variety of answers on this thread, some women feel very strongly about when to have the HSG. Good luck, go with what feels right to you!!!
