iam due to go for a hsg in a few days but have lost my letter explaining what i need to do beforehand, was any of you that have had this told to take any medication beforehand? does it hurt?, also iam due to go to work three hours afterwards. please help, really scared
I was meant to have a hsg, but couldnt because of my cycles are not doing what they are meant to, I had instructions for what I was supposed to do, and on my insructions it didnt say anything about taking any meds before hand, If you want to put your mind at rest, give the hospital a ring and they will tell you for sure if you need anything. A while back I started a thread in one of the forums (not sure which one though) about what it was like, for those who have experienced it, if I find it I will let you know then you can read the replys.
Hope this is of some help! and hope every thing goes ok for you when you have it done!!
Kim
xx

I've had 2 hsg's, the second one was supposed to be tuboplasty so I was heavily sedated, but they only needed to do an hsg in the end. Make sure you take a san pad with you as what goes up must come down!! Also have some pain killers with you as you might cramp afterwards. And try to relax beforehand and don't worry as that can make it worse, I was petrified which didn't help!
Oh and put some socks on as your feet get really cold (mine did anyway) and just remember that it only takes a couple of mins. Some people manage to get back to work afterwards but I just wanted to lay down for the rest of the day, so be prepared for that, everyone is different. Good luck and let us know how you get on!
