Talking Huge decrease in hairloss!

I am not sure of the exact cause but I have had a HUGE decrease in hairloss in the last few weeks. I have lost 56 pounds in the last year and thought that my hairloss would slow down but it got worse than ever. I asked my GP about it and he said that my body was probably freaking out from the weight loss and that once it got used to it the hairloss should slow down. I also got him to prescribe Spiro for me again at the same time and so have been on 200mg daily for just over a month now. I don't know if it is the Spiro or the weight stabilizing, but my hairloss is probably about 1/4 to 1/5 of what it was. There haven't been any of my hairs in the shower drain for weeks now and it was usually full of them. When I brush my hair after the shower there are a fraction of the number of hairs in the brush! In fact, my DD's lose the same amount or even a few more when I brush their hair after their baths! Something else I have noticed is that my fingernails have stopped splitting and peeling. I used to have such long nails before I had kids and gained weight that people thought they were fake, but ever since the kids they would just split and break all the time. Now they are really long again and no splitting or peeling! Now if I could just get my sex drive back life would be grand LOL! I would be interested to hear if anybody else noticed a change in their nails that correlated with weight gain or loss.

I think splitting nails is also related to a vitamin B deficiency...have you changed supplements or anything?

I don't actually take any supplements at all so that is why I am at a loss as to what has caused the improvement. The only things I have changed are my weight and the Spiro.

Hmm...I know spiro's supposed to help with hair (though it didn't help me any) but I'm curious about the nails...hm.
