My Mood: Points: 12,736.08 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,736.08 | It can be a sign of high cortisol which could be Cushings Syndrome but that is rare but you should be tested.
Also if you have had a lot of stress in the last few years... your cortisol goes up and you can develop it although problem not as bad as someone with cushings....
I noticed I was hunched over a bit and thought it was because I sit at a desk all day and also just ageing *33 years old* but deep down I thought nup that shouldn't be happening at 33...and there are lots of people at office desks that dont have this...
I was negative to Cushings.. but have had extreme stress from about 2003 to 2006 - so I Think its because of that - my stress hormones got high.. I also noticed in those years I aged alot....
I am taking metformin and have lost about 10kgs.. another 10 kgs to lose.. lets hope it goes as its not the most attractive.. I will try to sit and stand straighter.. but there is definatey a fleshy big to the uppper back or lower neck... |

I thought it might be because I'm at the computer, leaning forward too much, but if I pay attention, I'm more rigid, and not in a position that should contribute to humping building, least, I don't think so.

Although it is a sign of Cushings, doctors test for Cushings and Lupis before you are diagnosed for PCOS.

It isn't cancerous or anything, just big, ugly and makes me uncomfortable to wear my hair up or have short hair. They can be genetic. My Grandma also has it.

Points: 145.12 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 145.12 | I have now lost 20 lbs. I do cardio and strength training 5 x's per week and I am seeing amazing results everywhere except you know where. My hump still appears to be the same size. I have come across some information about Lipoma. Perhaps I'll talk to my Endo about that on my next visit. Thanks so much for the advice.
Someone asked about another trick besides long hair. I also wear shirts or sweaters with a collar or hoodie.
Does anyone else suffer from pain between the shoulders from their hump? |

My Mood: Points: 12,736.08 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,736.08 | I have had the fleshy hump and my neck started to stoop forward like I was hunched up. I am not sure if its because I sit in front of a computer all day (not because I want to but because I need to earn money, I hate it but need to do it).
I have lost some weight but its still there and It makes me look older. I am only 34, Neg for cushings as she did test for this and notice it but as soon as the results were neg she said "oh you don't really have a hump"..
I"m like "why did you mention it n the first place - (just thought to myself).
I am really concerned as there is a fleshy bit and the bones seem to be hunching my neck and head forward. Its not attractive. |

My Mood: Points: 12,736.08 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,736.08 | Yes I have it, I came along in the last 5 years when my stress was highest and weight highest and PcOS symptoms came along.
I am worried about it. I feel much older than 34 with a hump sort of curve on neck.....no one seems to be able to give me an answer. I am trying to sit up straighter but I sort of slump back into a curved posture like I am stiff and need to be that way. I work for 8 hours in an office so that can't help but there are lots of people who do that like me who don't have a hump.
I have seen it on lots of women over 45 but I feel too young to have this hump. |
