Please keep the people in the gulf states in your prayers.
I'm originally from Mobile, AL which is right in the path (as it stands right now) of this storm. I have a lot of friends and family in lower Alabama, lower Mississppi (my grandfather and step grandmother live there, aunts, cousins, etc.) and Louisiana. And there are a lot of cysters in these areas as well. This seems to be a bigger storm then Ivan last year. Thank you for keeping them in your thoughts and prayers.

We (our Church) have a military family (originally from AL) who are now stationed in NC, but their parents are still in AL (Mobile, I believe).
Our deacon's wife's family currently lives in Arkansas - both her mom & her sister are ill.
Our Youth Minister's Wife's father & my great Aunt both live in cities in TN.
A dear friend of my family lives in New Orleans.
There are several more that various people in our church (as well as others) know that are in the 'affected area' that will most certainly be in prayer.

Thanks for the prayers. I'll continue to pray, as I'll be up all night watching this come on shore. I was able to watch WPMI NBC 15 out of Mobile with Ivan last year. It seems they'll be doing it again with this storm starting with their 10PM newscast. http://www.wpmi.com/
I'll be tuning in. I hope everyone has evacuated the coastline.

thanks for the prayers everyone...I haven't heard from my parents they were suppose to be making land on sunday but the carnival cruise line decided to make land on monday. I also heard that they stayed two days in mexico instead of one day..again thanks for the prayers.

Definitely will be in my prayers. Please let us know when you hear from them. I'm sure the cruise ship is being diverted until the storm is onshore. From the looks of it, it is still heading right up Mobile Bay (Alabama). New Orleans is about 2 hours West of Mobile.

Everyone in the path is in my prayers. I am listening to CNN as I am online. Dennis was just updated not to long ago. He is now a category 4 and 145 mph. If you live in an area that needs evacuated I hope that you have done so.

Yes I am up watching the coverage. This is terrifying. If the storm stays on this path, it will ride right up Mobile bay and cross over into MS right over my grandfather's house.
145 MPH. Oh my God. Please pray ladies. This is a dangerous storm. I hope it doesn't gain more strength before it makes landfall. Cat 4 is bad. If it reaches 155 MPH it will be considered Cat 5.
Please please please pray for everyone there. I'm very concerned about my loved ones. May God bless and keep them out of danger.
