Exclamation Hydrogen Peroxide for Recurring BV?

Hydrogen Peroxide wash to rid BV. I know this sounds nuts but have any of you heard/tried it? It gets a TON of positive reviews http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/bac...DEDOUCHE_19371

These infections are just awful! The antibotics only work for a short period and leave the rest of my body is shambles! So... i'm desperate! Nothing has helped thus far and im running out of options! Thanks cysters!

If your vitamin d levels are up higher it helps BV. I used to have it alot, now I never have it, I took alot of Probiotics, and now I take alot of Vitamin D for pcos other health reasons.

http://womenshealth.about.com/b/2009...deficiency.htm

You can get your vitamin D levels tested at your doctors or at http://www.grassrootshealth.net/d-action

Also, this product is proven to help BV and stuff 'down there'...lots of good reviews!

Is BV a symptom of PCOS?

I've been suffering with Bacterial Vaginosis/Vaginitis since June 2006 and it's been nonstop. I think it's caused by a latex allergy for me (yea I've stopped using latex, but the BV won't go away). The only medicines that will calm the itching, burning, and discharge down for awhile is Metro-Gel, but I get sick of inserting it every night for a week and having the awful gelly stuff remnants seep out during the day.

What really worked for me while I didn't have insurance was a apple cider vinegar and water douche I used to mix up on my own. Half apple cider vinegar and half water (you might want to add a little more vinegar the first time you do it) and then wash your vaginal area out with it while sitting on the toilet.

There's something in apple cider vinegar that helps with the PH imbalance in the vagina of BV sufferers. Regular vinegar doesn't work the same.

That used to calm the itching and burning down if I did it every 2 days. It's a lot safer than peroxide although I've heard women say they've done it and it helped, but the thought just scares me.

Yes, you can use HP for BV.

My FAVORITE remedy though - better than yogurt or probiotic tablets, better than ACV, better than anything I've ever found, is tea tree oil suppositories. You should be able to get what you need at Whole Foods or other health food stores - empty capsules, tea tree oil, and Vitamin E oil. Use 1/3 TTO and 2/3 Vit. E - put them in with a dropper. Insert one capsule intravaginally each night - it is instant cooling relief, and it really kills the gardinerella (sp) - the bad bacteria that causes BV. This regimen had kept me symptom free for months and months, but I had to stop once I got pregnant - essential oils like TTO are not safe in pregnancy.

Let me know if you try it, and if it helps. Believe me, I have tried just about EVERYTHING for BV. It always came back within 48 hours of finishing antiobiotics, so I had no choice but to find some home remedy that would keep it at bay. If you are having an outbreak right now, do go ahead and get the antiobiotics, but start the TTO regimen at the same time. Eat tons of yogurt to replace the good bacteria that the abx kill, too.

Tina, I'm not sure if BV is a side-effect from having PCOS, but it could be.

Kat, ACV huh? Interesting....

I have a Dr. appt tomorrow and i'll get her opinion on HP and ACV!

OK ladies: the doctor's orders....

She is becoming experimental on me and confirmed that is is OK to use HP! Also yogurt, and...... acidophilus (sp?) pills (in the vajayjay)...

Im gonna try some combinations of the three and let you know. She also wrote me a script for antibotics (new kind - never taken or heard of) so i might take those... CHOICES CHOICES.

xoxo

I'm glad you're getting all types of treatment and I hope everything works and knocks that BV out of there.

Bacterial Vaginosis is a terrible thing to suffer with.

I have used the RePhresh gel with Acidophilus taken internally (enteric-coated Primadophilus by Nature's way). I have heard that the abnormal hormones levels can cause the body to be more susceptible to BV.

Laides, I am so glad that u have posted all of these remedies. I was gonna post a thread about having recurrent vaginitis bc I think it has to do with the PCOS bc of our homonal changes & whatnot. So, I just wanted to post a thank u to all of the info.

Probiotics helped me. I was getting them all the time too. When I would complain to my obgyn she would say well they are mild ...I guess if it's mild I shouldn't worry? Well about two weeks before my obgyn appt I started taking probiotics more for my IBS more than the BV ..anyway my test for the BV can back normal for the first time in years. Right now I'm taking acidophilus tablets in place of the yogurt I was trying to eat everyday. I do sometimes forget but am still BV free
