Question Hyperinsulinemia

Hi all,

Is hyperinsulinemia the same thing as being Insulin Resistant?

If you have hyperinsulinemia, what can you do?

Hyperinsulinemia is the medical term for insulin resistance. People with higher than normal insulin levels overreact to carbohydrates with higer-than-normal insulin spikes, so fat storing occurs faster for them.

Bottom line.....watch your carb intake. There are several different dietary programs out there...you need to find the one that makes the most sense to you...its the only way you will stick with the program.

I personally have tried a few and have found that eating my carbs (low gylcemic) with protein works great for me.....Sugar Busters or the IR Diet!

Good luck!
