You can get hypo symptoms even when blood sugar is in normal range if you've had a big spike and resultant fast crash, or if your blood sugar is lower than is normal for YOU. The latter is especially common when dieting or when taking an IR med, such as Metformin. The former is common when eating a high carb diet. If that is the case, switching to a lower-glycemic way of eating (high fiber, moderate whole grains, lots of protein) can help a lot, as well as eating frequently throughout the day.
