It can take a long time to get the right dosage for you. Once its correct you may start to lose weight. Unfortunately it will most like take longer than 2 months.

The only thing that being on meds (levoxyl and metformin) do for me is stop the weight gain and get me out of the fog.

I'm eternally grateful for this because I used to have cray moods before meds and felt like I was walking through molasses and had no energy.

But it doesn't make losing the excess any easier for me because I still have to have to exercise (I'm bad on this) and still have to food log.

Which is ok...

Just pointing out that it isn't going to solve everything.

I lost 15 pounds in about three weeks when I was first diagnosed and again when I was pregnanent.

This weight loss was sustained, until a virus attacked my body and I gained 40 pounds.

No difference for me - I was diagnosed 13 or more years ago and have steadily gained weight every year...this year I have made exercise and diet my absolute top priority and I am loosing weight, slowly but steadily.

So, I would say that it will "allow" weight loss if your diet and exercise levels are right (and other hormone problems are also controlled)...in other words if you are overweight purely because of being hypothyroid then your weight will slowly return to normal, once your dose is accurate for your body.
