Default hypogonadism? anyone?

i was diagnosed with having hypogonadism. I was previously diagnosed with PCOS, but this new doctor said that i'm not since most of my blood works: LH,FSH, Estradiol are low. My insulin is normal, same with my prolactin.

My ultrasound didn't show signs of cysts in ovaries... she saw somthing, but said that they weren't cysts.

Now, she tested my ovaries by letting me take clomid, so far it hasn't worked, i have to go back again on monday if 100mg of clomid worked. If not, she has to incr my dosage to 150mg.

the only option i've got is to take estrogen/progesterone therapy until i want to get pregnant....

Is anyone like me? Are the diagnosis of the doctor reasonable?

Told me my case is harder to conceive/treat than PCOS

My doctor also put down hypogonadism for my diagnois for five years since my bloodwork was pretty normal except for high triglycerides which was also put down in my reocrds. Eventually my prolactin shot up and I had to have a tumor removed from my pit gland so now I am ovulating and my cholesterol is going down with dieting and met. finally but I thought it was better to have hypogonadism on my records because it depicted more of what was going on, meaning the hormones are obviously skewed in some way that you are not getting your cycles and having other symptoms. I was able to get my treatment covered by my insurance company and haven't had issues with them so the dx is enough for you to get help you know. I think my docotor felt that I wasn't classic "PCOS" because I didn't have the cysts or high androgens but I had lots of acne, apple shape, and not menstruating at all unless it was induced so I think the hpyogonadism dx is reserved for people who are not classic PCOS, but it probably also depends on the doctor. There are a lot of sites on the web that explain it as both males and females can have it and it might clarify some things for you. Here is one site : http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001195.htm

Hope that helps you out a bit
Christine

I tested for triglycerides waay back when i was first diagnosed with PCOS, they're normal. Even my cholesterol is normal

The doctor told me that even if i take progeterrone drug to make me menstruate...it won't happen since i don't have anything in my uterus to shed (lack of esterogen, super thin endometrium lining)

So she said that the only option for me is to take hormone replacement therapy = estrogen and progesterone drug. BAsed on the link you posted, this seems like the only treatment. WEll, hypogonadism can never be treated right? You have to rely on taking HRT drug ?
