Hi ladies. Haven't been here for awhile. Good to see that some of you are doing well! I was on hyponnid for about 2 months but stopped taking it because it caused me to gain weight and it stopped working for me after awhile.

Since then, I've been to a PCOS friendly GP and had a really good chat about things. It's so good to finally find someone who is understanding of what we PCOS sufferers are going through! Anyway, she gave me a script for metformin and a request for a pelvic ultrasound - something my current GP hasn't given me. Don't get me wrong, my current GP is fantastic but is concentrating on getting my depression under control before she will even look at the PCOS. But from what I have read numerous times, the PCOS has to be treated and not the individual symptoms. I've been on the metformin (500mg once a day) for about 3 days now and already I can see some positive changes - reduced appetite, facial hair has all but stopped growing and I've lost about half a kilogram (not sure what that is in pounds).

Well, I thought I'd just drop in and give an update. I'm still interested in the hyponnid and might give it another go further down the track. Have a great week everyone.

Hey all!

I just ordered Hyponidd. My doctor wanted me to try Metformin for recurrent miscarriages and longer (is 32 days really that long?) cycles, but my mom has had such bad GI effects I really didn't want to try that if there were any other options at all!!! I had tested negative for IR a while back, but that was 40 pounds ago, so I think he suspects that may be a factor now as well...

Anyway, I am curious if anyone has taken it while they were pregnant though? My doc wanted me to take the Metformin throughout the pregnancy because it is supposed to decrease the rate of m/c, but I'm wondering if the Hyponidd would potentially have the same effect and be safe to take throughout?

Any thoughts, experience, or suggestion would be VERY appreciated!!!
Thanks!
Jen

Hi ladies. I have been reading your forum for awhile but decided to join today. I wanted to start my saying thank you to Pearl. You are truly an inspiration to me. I have PCOS and I am IR as well as overweight. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for approximately 6 years. As a result of Provera and Clomid in 2005 I conceived but m/c after 6 weeks as a result of low progesterone levels. Currently, I am not having a cycle at all. So after reading this thread I decided to order hyponidd tablets. Today was my first day. I will keep you posted on my progress. Pearl did you take hyponidd during your entire pregnancy.

Thanks

Default Hyponidd during pregnancy

Hi,
I have forwarded your query to Dr Rajesh Nair of ayurvedaforall and will post his reply here.

Hey yes I took hyponidd till I was 8 weeks pregnant and after that I had terrible morning sickness. I couldnt keep anything down. I know hyponidd acts on the system for a few months after stopping it so I guess it helped my body even after I had stopped. I started again after week 16 I think and my sugars through pregnancy were great - 5 I think.

So I am new. I am just got my order of Hyponidd a couple days ago but the packaging has made me a little scared to take it. I just wanted to make sure that everyone else have all had good effects from this. I've already had a baby and I am on BC but still seem to be fighting a lot of the effects of the the PCOS. I hated the metformin and with IBS it made things feel even worse. Did anyone else just receive a blister pack of somewhat big blue pills? I just want reassurance before I put these in my system since they came from India and you can't get them in the US. Still just weird to me.

Yes it comes in a blister pack lol! I suppose its the way indians do things??

hyponidd helps acne facial hair weight gain etc, it may regulate your periods and help you lose weight on diet and exercise, its not a magic pill that makes you lose weight without diet or exercise

If you facial hair is very bothersome you can also add a herbal anti androgen. But as you are on the pill it should be under control?

all the best and please let us know how you get on !

This is the reply of Dr Nair.
You can take Hyponidd during the pregnancy and dosage is 2-0-2 after food. Drink lot of water boiled with ginger and holy basil. Monitor blood sugar level. Also she can try some other ayurvedic stuffs like Thankasree ghritham which will facilitate better hormonal balance.
Thanks for referring a case to Ayurveda. I will join the community shortly.

Hi All,
Just wanted to introduce myself, I read all 13 pages of this thread and wanted to share my story. My name is Ykia and I was diagnosed with PCOS about 7 yrs ago. This diagnosis was a blessing to me b/c with my hair thinning, hair growing in places it should (face/chest), mood swings, lack of a period one month, than a 27 day AF the next, I was starting to lose my mind. Not to mention the weight gain!!!! I was just glad to know I had something real. My DH and I have been TCC for about 6.5 years. I tried Metforim and it made me sick as dog before I gave it up. We had several unsuccessful IVF attempts and finally got a BFP in Jan 08, only to mc at 9wks. I have been on hypinodd for about 1 month (2-0-2), still no AF, however I have experienced the itching, my face is breaking out more, my sugar cravings are down and my energy level is up. I get laser hair removal treatments to control the hair growth on my face, so I do not know if hypinodd has improved it. I also wear wigs to cover my thinning on top, but I have seen a slight improvement in my hair quality. I have been on Weight Watchers for 2.5 weeks and walk 3.5 miles a day and have lost 10 lbs.

I hope AF comes soon....wish me luck!!!

I feel stupid, but what is 2-0-2 for a dosage? I'm not PG, but we are going to start TTC next year - I've never TTC before, so I don't know how hard a time I'll have with it or not with the PCOS. But just for my info for down the road, was curious about this too-- I've been on 2 pills of Hyponidd a day (one morning, one night) for well over a year now; I think it helps but I haven't gone off it to see the diff, lol.

Hey Ladies

How are you all doing

Im still taking my hyponidd and added vitamin D also, I am down to 149lbs from around 187,

I am dieting and exercising as hyponidd is not a magic cure and wont work without lifestyle modifications...

vitamin D is also proving to be excellent

My IR is very very severe, I was pre diabetic, actually borderline diabetic....my hirsutism was very very severe and that is also under control...

It is a slow process that takes a lot of work

Hyponidd has helped lots though and is definately part of my regime

All the best ladies!!!! xxxx

Hey... I am new here.... I was officially dx with pcos nov 08....i think i was in denial for about a year of that time but the fact is that I have been having probs and symptoms for about 15 years so I have probably had pcos for that long and just never knew it or knew anything about it..... my dr had me on met and i was up to 2000 mg and I HATE it!!!!!!! I have been on it for over a year and am still having terrible side effects and have to go to the bathroom all the time....which is difficult since i am a teacher and don't have the luxury of just going to the restroom anytime...... anyway, i stopped taking it about a month ago becuz i just can't take it anymore. I read all of the post about Hyponidd and have decided to try it...i ordered it and am waiting for it so I can start....I hope this helps....

Pearl....i just wanted to tell you that after all this time your story is still inspirational.....I am ttc #2 and hope this works for me....... I already started taking cinammon and have noticed that the sweet cravings have significantly decreased. Thanks
