Default Hypothyroid, PCOS, Endometriosis, Thin, and Frustrated

Is anyone else out there thin with this trio?

The hypothyroidism and PCOS are confirmed and the endometriosis is strongly suspected.

I finally have doctors taking me seriously, but it is really hard for people in my life to really comprehend. When many people look at me, women in particular, they only see my weight and height and they think I've got it made, that I have everything they could dream of. I don't think of my height or weight often and rarely think of other people's so it is hard for me to have people regularly commenting on my own. I've been the exact same weight for a decade (and was lighter before that). You'd think they'd get tired of commenting on it!

If I say I'm tired or having a tough day, there is zero sympathy or concern. They compare my supposedly young and perfect (far from it, but that's what they think) body to theirs and tell themselves how much worse they have it. Once in a rare while I even get a response that politely boils down to saying I deserve it for being thin. I feel like I always have to keep a smile plastered on my face for their sake and that admitting that my body is less than perfect is somehow seen as inappropriate and insensitive for a thin woman to discuss.

I'm hoping someone else can tell me that it isn't just me. How do other thin cysters navigate?

Well, I'm a thin cysters who is also hypothyroid, so I feel some of your pain. I find that ignorant people seem to assume that because I'm thin, I must not eat enough, and that is causing any health problem I may have. People who know me, though, know I get enough to eat, and I'm actually a very healthy eater. My thought is that the general population is completely ignorant when it comes to most medical issues, but they seem to think they know it all. I also don't understand why some people think its OK to make comments about a thin person when they would never do so about a heavier person.

Anyway, hang in there, and I hope you get the proper treatment that you deserve!
