Default hypothyroidism and soy

I posted this question on the General post, but thought I should also check in here.

I've been reading about soy and how bad it is for those of us with thyroid problems. I am taking 200 mg of synthroid. Should I avoid all soy products or will a muffin made with soy flour be ok once in awhile.

I have read about Virgin Coconut Oil and its benefits in losing weight. Does anyone have and info on this?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Soy flour is not ok. It has the goitrogenic effect. Soybean oil or soy lecithin is the only forms of soy that are generally always ok. Fermented soy is ok, but generally tastes like crap to most westerners!

That being said, if you dont mind feeling a little sick once in a while you can eat your muffins. I sometimes make that decision about food.
