Points: 84,891.83 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 84,891.83 | I am balding My hair is thinning!!! I am 21 I cannot deal with this. I went off spiro I didnt know that it was stopping my hair from thinning since before I went on it my hair wasnt thinning! What do I do? My hair is naturally thin so now it looks really bad! I went back on the spiro now but I HATE thinking that I am going to have to rely on it forever so that I have normal hair. I am so upset right now, I never knew my pcos was getting worse until right now.

I took 200mgs of Spironolactone for three years, I continued to lose hair. It lowered my Testosterone some. It didn't work on the DHT part.
I now take Flutamide. It stopped my hair loss. I have experienced hair loss for 20+ years. It would go in cycles. Just when I would think that it had stopped it would start up again. It was my most difficult PCOS symptom to deal with. Good luck. I hope that you find something that works for you. HTH

My Mood: Points: 249,087.95 Bank: 149,174,529.67 Total Points: 149,423,617.62 | My hair has been thinning for years, but no bald spots have appeared. When I went on a lower carb diet my hair stopped thinning and it was the first I really believed that it had been thinning before. I think I was in major denial before that. I wasn't getting gobs of hair out of my brush each day anymore. Recently I have noticed I'm loosing more hair, but not like I was before. I have very little to put in a ponytail now and it's not seeming to get thicker. I had my hormones checked and my testoserone results were fine, but I believe I have elevated testosterone (acne, thinning hair, mood swings, hair growth in the wrong places, etc.)

I hate the fact that it may be a forever thing as well. I'm on Spiro too and I'm hoping that it will take my excessive hair growth and acne away. Before I took Levothyroxine (Synthroid) my hair would fall out, but since I've been taking it, it hasn't. Have you had any results from the Spiro concerning hair growth and acne? |
