Default I am bleeding for the last 3 months…and I have not idea how to stop it.

For the last one year my periods have been irregular. I get periods which lasts for 2 and half months and then for three moths I don’t get them. I come under the category of Excessive bleeding and irregular periods. As my doctor suggested I went for a sonography, I have been diagnosed for PCOS. My doctor explained it is because of the imbalance between LH and the FHS which are produced in the pituitary glands. Because of the imbalance the level progesterone hormones are less. I got the big picture my doctor was trying to explain me and he suggested me to take the contraceptive pill for three months. But I am not prepared to take them and I want to cure it by some natural ways.

Rite now I am bleeding for the last 3 months…and I have not idea how to stop bleeding. Please suggest. And also…how do I cure it.

After searching the net I read on a website named: What really works and many others that extracts of Vitex Agnus Chaste Berries helps to balance the hormones and the LH and FSH. But I don’t want to go for it without consultations.

But before I start with the extracts of the Vitex Agnus Chaste Berries I need to stop bleeding.

Links I referred to come to a conclusion about Vitex Agnus Chaste Berries is:

I used to have this problem and because I wouldn't go on bcp, I ended up severely anemic. I finally went on bcp and have been taking iron supplements ever since. When I was finally dx with pcos, I went off of the pill and starting taking metformin since I'm insulin resistant. Since that time, my period has gotten a LOT better and only shows up when it should.

Check out the Alternative Remedies board; there's a lot of info on vitex.

Good luck. And please make sure you have your doctor watch your iron level. It can become a vicious cycle - you lose iron because of too much bleeding, yet you bleed more because you're anemic.

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. Atkins straightened my periods out quickly. Within a month I had a 5 day period every 30 days.

Archana - This has happened to me a few times. I take provera for 10 days to induce a real period, and that stops the bleeding.

Whenever I go on metformin I can't stop bleeding. Nothing can stop it not even BC. The doc had to take me off it because she couldn't make the bleeding stop. I recently had an IUD inserted and I'm going to wait a few months before I go on metformin again. Does metformin cause uncontrollable menses in any one else?

ok what I have to say is fairly long and I hope some one anyone takes the time to read this because I really need help!!!!

I am 23 years old I have had my menses since I was 12 and every since I was 14 they have been irregular usually I go 2 to 3 months with out a period and on the 3 or 4th month I menstruate the entire month which is pretty normal to me and then some times my menstrual cycle is "normal" I menstruate every month for 5 to 7 days recently my menstrual cycle has been normal for most of 2008 until November I have been bleeding for 3 months straight I started tri-sprintec3 weeks ago I took the last "active pill" today I took this pill with the intentions of stopping my period I normally have moderate acne with my period but ever since I started taking this BC I have had the WORST acne I have every had in my entire life and I also have cramps and severe mood swings and bouts of depression as well as being tired most if not the entire day. I don’t know what to do in the past birth control has helped with my irregular menses but this time is different and because I do not have insurance no doctor will see me and I can not go to the health department until I stop bleeding.. I need help I have become severely anemic and yes I take iron and also b complex but I still feel miserable I guess what im looking for is some advice of weather I should go to the Emergency room or not because im really beginning to worry and my husband is also getting worried as well... so if any one took the time to read this I would be most appreciative if they can give me some type of advice.

I would totally say go to the emerg! anemia is not something to play around with and if you dont get it under control and you get bad enough anemia wise you might end up having to get a blood transfusion, if you are that bad and weak if your skin is yellowish or you think something is really wrong go to the hospital, even if its just to be on the safe side!

in terms of bleeding for 3 months... Im backwards to everyone... my period had to be medically induced and when it didnt start on its own after that I was put on bcp and it took a month or two and I finally got a period but it lasted 3 or 4 months! my dr said that I had one so long because the blood built up because my body couldnt get rid of it so when it was able to start getting rid of it, it wanted to get rid of all of it... Im wondering if maybe thats whats happening with you ladies? if your not getting a period for 4 months then get a period for a whole month it almost sounds like ur body is saving up the periods then doing it all at once? ... just a thought
