I have to agree with you ladies my DH was incredible during my losses. The 1st one was the hardest for both of us we laid in bed together for hours crying holding each other. It is so important to have spousal support. So we dont feel like we are carying the burden alone. I felt like it was my fault as well. Stupid PCOS. Why cant we just be like normal women??? grrrrrr

I am so so sorry for your loss. as per your question i have had 2 DnC's and i did have cramping for a few days after both of them but with my last one i had a better dr he gave me a medication to make my uterus contract and i had almost no bleeding afterwards. he also gave me an antibiotic and 2 different pain medications. but i didnt really need the pain meds i just rested and cried and slept. here i am about 6 weeks later and my 1st AF came and wow its a doozie. NEver had bleeding like this before. but if i can be of any help please let me know.
Again i am sorry for your pain. Take care of yourself and DH. Let people pamper you. Cry when u need to and scream when u want to. Everyday its different. I still cant hardly stand to see a pg woman without wishing it was me........ hugs to u...

Mara~SS for your loss. I know how heartbreaking it is.

Tcrock~Thanks for the info. I didn't get any antibiotics from my dr. but I think I am ok. I bled a little heavier yesterday and today I am feeling a little better. I passed a clot last night...not too big but I was crampy and then it came out and now I am fine.

I have been going through this with my dh and I am going to bring this up to my dr. My little one had a strong hb the night I spotted red and went to ER which was not his saturday...but the saturday before. They said I had a clot of sorts and to follow up with RE. The discharge form said placental clot.
So RE u/s tech said no placental clot that the placenta wasn't even formed yet. She said I had a pocked of blood that was minimal but probably causing the bleeding. That was last Monday and my baby measured on time and had a good hb again.

But my HCG in 5 days only had rised from 37000 to 60000. I mentioned to dh that wasn't right and it should be doubling at the most 3.5 days and mine was at 7.19. That tipped me off that something may be wrong but I let it go. Then the bleeding started Wednesday. And I passed 2 large clots. I saved them for dr but they weren't the baby so I never offered to them. The baby was still in there and the u/s tech marked off a big area and titled it bleed.

My point is...why do most women learn at 7 weeks + that their baby is gone by lack of hb. No bleeding. I bled for a full day and the baby was still inside me. I just don't know what to think. Did I have a clot that the ER seen? Did that clot pass and cause me to bleed and thus ending my pregnancy?

I have so many questions and I don't think I will get any answers.

Amanda ~ My MD said with my last loss sometimes it takes the body a few weeks to even notice and pass the baby after it has no hb. She was shocked when I was scheduled for a D&C on 3/25. Early that morning at like 2 am I started passing all of the large clots. Then right before the D&C she did the u/s and saw it was completely clear and was surprised.

I think with your clot, you would have known if you had passed it. I suppose it could be the cause of the m/c. But I would speak with your MD. With even my m/c at 16 wk, we never found any answers. And apparently thats common... but not sufficent enough for me.

Kristina~It sucks that they usually don't have an answer. I read, hear and even was told that by my RE. That doesn't work for me either. It sucks not knowing!

I am just really not wanting to go through this again. I am meeting with a grief counselor in the morning. I need to know my feelings are ok and just need to talk to someone instead of driving my dh crazy with my thoughts and assumptions on what happened.

Amanda - I hope your meeting withthe counselor is beneficial. I have an appointment for next week. My RE told me the same thing regarding finding out what happened - most times they don't find anything.

This site was my grief counseling. Just knowing that i could say whatever i needed to say and people understood me. If you have not been thru this devestation you have no idea how badly it hurts and for how long your grieve. Some of your posts make me want to cry i feel each word. I dont understand that there are studies out there for every freckin thing why cant someone find out why a baby with a hb suddenly is snatched away......I just want some type of answer and because i dont get one it is hard to find closure. Stupid people say the stupidest things like" Just be glad u can get pregnant" or " Well something must have been wrong with the baby anyway" or " you can always try again" or " there is a reason for everything" i already know all of these things but it does not ease my pain. I am allowed to hurt and cry and scream my baby is gone. I am at the point that i actually say things to people when they say stupid things to me. Not out of hatred but Hello i have a right to hurt!!!! If i just walk away then they will say the same crap to someone else going thru this. I feel i am enlightening and if that is wrong i am sorry.
Losing your baby and having your dreams crushed are real things and i wont let anyone discount that in any way.
I have all of u on my mind everyday as i pray. we will get our miracles. and we will be on here talking about whos baby is the cutest... i believe that...

Amanda

Good to see you on the threads again. I know you will never fully get all the answers you are looking for, but maybe I can give you some information that might ease your mind.

My first m/c we conceived naturally (pre PCOS dx). I was about 6 weeks when we found out, and I m/c 6 days later - so I never even went to my OB. I woke up bleeding and it would get really bad once an hour. I later discovered the severe cramps were contractions and I passed the baby. All I can say is you'll know when you pass it. After that the cramping stopped and bleeding was almost to a minimum -- spotting for one more day.

My doctor said 50% hear the hb during week 6 and the other 50% don't, but 100% of viable hear in the 7th week. I can say in hindsight, next time I WILL NOT go before 7 weeks. Even if things had turned out differently for me this time, that week wait was dreadful and I never want to go through that again. He said it's not the baby that makes the hormones, it's the sac and the membrane, so it could go on for several days/weeks before they stop. In my case, he was guessing my hcg had already peaked (though I hadn't had a beta in weeks) and would start dropping.

I don't remember what I felt like before I m/c last time, but I can say now I will be shocked if I have to have a D&C on Thursday. For some reason my body is feeling different, cramping in different ways and I just bet I pass this one naturally as well. But I could very well be wrong -- I've not been right about much as far as this is concerned.

Just take the time to grieve. I'm still waiting for mine to kick in and the shock to wear off. At least we can get our BFPs together again!

Hey girls

Harley, I hope all is going ok today as well. Please let us know.

Grief counseling is everywhere for me too. I use this thread, my friends, my dh, and the counselor.

I bought a memory box to decorate today and put the baby stuff I had already in it. I hope that helps a little. I can't bare to look at the things but one day I will want to look.

Hi girls

Thanks for those of you checking in on me.

The procedure went well today -- I must say I am a fan of the IV/drugs! I've never had that before and never experienced drugs affecting me like that!

So far no major pain -- my back has been hurting the last couple of hours, but that's typically where my af pain is.

I'm going to relax the rest of the night and take it easy.

Thanks again!

I totally agree in the IV drugs. they are like non other-lol- but i swear i could not be a drug addict because on a normal basis i would not be able to stand that out of control lost feeling. i am a control freak!!! But with my 2nd loss i had really hard contractions and it helped me ease those so they were a lifesaver. sending us all baby dust
