My Mood: Points: 12,056.30 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 12,056.30 | I am at a loss for what to do.... I am not sure if this is the correct spot for this post, but here goes. My insurance company is at it again. I have been on BCP since March. And haven't had problems with them covering me until now. I was set to order my next refill this week. I called in to Walgreens as normal. I find out that my insurance has denied the prescription. WTH??? I just don't get it. Can they do this all of a sudden?? So what I would like to know is...has anyone had this happen before? Also, I am St. Louis and I guess I need a better insurance plan. Anyone have a good plan? Thank you for your help. Very much appreciated.

Apparently my insurance company will not foot their percentage for the bcp until you are 2/3 through your prescription. In my case, I had to wait an extra week, which wasn't an issue because i wasn't finished my current package, but not like I wanted to go back to the pharmacy. I only found this out, after I got home, thinking they filled it along with another prescription, only to find the other 2. Go figure. I spoke to the pharmist and she explained why this happened. This maybe the case with your insurance company too.

I have Goldenrule thru United Healthcare right now. I was down to my last pill when they did this to me.

otherwise, perhaps you can find a bcp that you can get on discount from somewhere? like- the rxoutreach site that I mentioned in another post, has a few bcps on their list- but not progesterone only like mine is- otherwise I might be getting it from them.

Points: 123.99 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 123.99 | I was having some sort of the same issue. I was paying $60 a month for bc pills. Which in fact I was not using it for a contraceptive, just to regulate my cycle due to my PCOS. I went back yesterday, because I can not afford $60 [just to start my period] and they rewrote my prescription with the DX of PCOS. Which in turn possibly will lower the cost. I have yet to fill it, but hopefully it works! |
