Default I am new anyone with anger issues-mood swings?

Hello,
I haven't been officially Dx yet but my appointment is on tuesday. I was dx with insulin resistance 2years ago, but they said I didn't have PCOS at the time. Over the past many years I have had issues with depression and anxiety. Now I just started my period after not having one for 9 months.
Anyways to the point, 4 days prior to the start of my period I became very angry almost in a rage. I wanted to and tried to take it out on anyone that moved. It was like an out of body experience. Now that my period is here I feel better, the depression is back but the anger is gone.

Does anyone else have anger issues and such extreme mood swings?

Hi and welcome to SC! I've been known to have some mood swings too but not usually anger related.

I've had mood swings - but not anything to anger. More of weepishness at rare ocassion. That being said, hormones are strong.... anything's possible.

Welcome to SC! Years and years ago I had mood swings. They subsided with the help of diet/exercise - more diet. Anyway, I have noticed recently since my loss that I have mood swings and some of them I do get a rage. I am trying to learn to control it again. The dr said it was just part of my body getting back to where it used to be.

Dang I can totally relate to the anger issue!! I felt friggen crazzzzzzy back when I use to have a period. I would be in a rage, then burst out laughing, then crying. It was horrible!! I felt like a lunatic. Then my period stopped.....and the crazziness stopped. I just started taking hormones to bring back my period, hopefully it won't make me loony again.

I used to get those angry mood swings whenever I didn't have a period for a long time. I bet it's just your hormones freaking out because it's been so long. Glad you're not angry anymore

Yep. I'm a very aggressive person who gets angry at the drop of a dime. I've also dealt with depression and anxiety issues. You can actually do a google search on women and high testosterone or women and pcos and anger issues and you'll find some research studies done on the various mood swings and aggressive behavior that a lot of women with our condition go thru.
