Hello, I am 26 years old, healthy female, never had a problem...until 2 weeks ago I started having right pelvic pain..I had a sonogram and was diagnosed with a 4cm ovarian cyst and polycystic left ovary..went for 2nd opinion with a nasty endocrinologist that said I def. had PCOS. Although, I do not have excessive body hair and acne, who doesn't have the occasional breakout and have to shave their legs and perhaps other parts? As for the weight, I will never be what I should weigh on those height-weight charts..does that mean I am obese? I am having my blood tested in one week, and am starting Yasmin as opposed to the triphasic pills I am on now. I am looking for any words of support as this has all hit me like a ton of bricks, and I am so scared at nite, I cannot sleep..what do I do? Are there certain foods, habits to avoid in the meantime?
We were all afraid when we were diagnosed. Dont be. Its not a death sentence. Just make sure you get treated! So many Drs just want to put us on the pill to take care of the symptoms. I didnt have acne or the hair problems either. Just very cystic ovaries, and not being able to get pregnant. We just have to stay positive and do what we have to do. Find a great Dr that you like and will treat you and learn about natural therapies some of the gals here use. I wish you all the best! Youll be fine!

Don't be scared we are by your side in this. It is very scary at first but you'll get treatment and adapt. In general low carb, exercise and "you" moments are always a good way to go.
