Default I am obsessive about my eyebrows.

They grow so fast. I usually get them waxed but it's starting to get expensive going every 2 weeks and paying $15 with tip. The lady does such a good job, I'd hate to go somewhere else. I think what I need to do is learn how to remove stray eyebrow hairs on my own but I have this feeling that I'll end up with tattooed eyebrows instead of nicely shapened ones (no offense to those with tattooed eyebrows, it's just not my look). Anyone have any tips for me? I would pluck them but it hurts! My eyes start watering and I end up quitting mid-plucking. *sigh* I dont want to get laser treatments either. Has anyone used any eyebrow strip things successfully? If eyebrows would change the look of your face so much, I wouldnt be so concerned but I like them to be nice and clean and within a few days, the hairs are growing back! TIA!

I am too. I pluck mine though. I got them waxed a couple times in HS and they taught me how to maintain them. Make sure you pluck after a hot shower or just use a warm wet wash cloth to heat them up. The water and the heat kinda opens the follicle and it doesn't hurt as much. But if your still in pain from it keep some ice handy for afterwards or ice it beforehand. And moisturize them afterwards. It used to hurt a lot but I've got used to them and after 10 years of maintaining them I really don't have to do much except catch some stray ones every week or two.

I'd be kinda weary waxing though. That stuff is really hard to handle and I'd be scared I'd take an eyebrow off. But that's just me

i get mine done at the salon, too. Could you sometimes go to the salon and then do your own in between??

what i do now is get them done at the salon about once in 4 weeks, but for about 1 week of the four i do them myself. If you see what i mean

Tiffers, that's what I'm afraid of. I could wax my legs or something that it wouldnt matter if I removed ALL hair LOL I'm too afraid to wax my eyebrows. I'm going to try and maintain what I have now. I plucked a few last night and I'll just keep doing that. Maybe if I keep an eye on them, they wont get out of control and I can save some money. Thanks girls.

I gotthe same problem. I try to go every 8 or 9 days. I pay $ 8.00 and $5.00 for upper lip. Plucking kills me. Wish you luck....

I havent even gotten the courage to ask them to wax my upper lip. I tried doing that on my own with Sally Hansen hair removal cream and I will NEVER do THAT again. Yikes! Burned right through my skin. It was awful. As of now it's peach fuzz but I can still see it and it bugs me.

Sally Hansen has these wax strips you can buy and you just rub them between your hands (or I swipe them over the curling iron real fast.) The wax is warm enough to stick but not burn. They're good for face area and smaller areas (ie bikini and unederarms) but probably kinda costly for legs. I've used them for between the eyebrows though but not to shape them. You could probably cut them in shapes for safer use on the eyebrows though.

I have to head to the salon for an eyebrow wax every couple weeks too I do pluck in between, but eventually they just get out of control and I don't have 20 minutes to spend plucking every day

I only get them to wax my upper lip once a month cause it HURTS and my skin stays red for an hour or two afterward

This is what I use...I cut them to shape where I need waxed (like the curve under the eyebrow) and they always come out perfect! Good luck!!!

have you tried having them threaded? i always find this lasts' much longer! I have mine done by a local woman (she charges me about £3.00). I know lots of places in the UK do it, so they must do it in the US, as most thing we get here start the other side of the pond!

Lol, I always feel it's the opposite. You always get stuff first on that side of the pond! Maybe it's just the grass is always greener (what I wouldn't do for a bottle of Lilt and a crunchie bar though!)

I know in MS we have a few people who do threading. It's usually at a middle eastern salon or Indian salon though. It's about $10 a go. I'm sure in bigger cities you can probably have them done in most salons now.

Does threading hurt more than waxing?

And just to make matters stranger, Lilt is a Coca Cola product!
