Default I Am So Angry!!! (vaniqa)

OKAY, so I used Vaniqa about 8 months ago and I was THRILLED with the results. When I ran out and had to re-order, my pharmacist said that they stopped selling it in Canada! I was soooooooooo pi$$ed!!!
In January, I started Laser hair removal. I've done 3 sessions and it is a disaster. I am getting ingrowns from them shaving me, I haven't been getting ANY results and it's pretty expensive! So I have decided to stop doing it.
Now I have a chin/neck area that has been shaved, therefore has been coming in coarser. My mom suggested yesterday that I search for a company online to send it to me.
Well I thought I found it! I made an account with CanadaDrugs.com and sent in my prescription and they e-mailed me today telling me they will not ship Vaniqa to Canada!
My question is... WHY THE HELL NOT?!?! I am beyond upset over this! Have any of you Canadians been able to get ahold of Vaniqa? If so, PLEASE let me know, I'M DESPERATE!!!

not too sure. have you talked to a pharmacist about why they no longer sell Vaniqua in Canada? I have never tried Vaniqua myself but have used laser with good results (not gone but it's thinner).

Just wondering what type of laser they used on you. If it's an IPL, it doesn't reduce it, just gets rid of it for a time being but it comes back with the same thickness. I have found the Lightsheer XC to be the best one for results (Tried IPL, Lightsheer and Coolglide)

Probably a case of the US-based company which has exclusive rights to distribute Vaniqa in Canada enforcing those rights. Not being available through certain channels is something very different from not being available at all.

To avoid ingrowns from shaving, get a good men's-type Norelco electric razor -- I find them great for women's use.

Don't give up on the laser hair removal. If you don't like the way they shave you, just shave yourself the day or two before a treatment. I haven't been using vaniqa, but I'll ask my doctor next time I go about why it isn't available anymore...

Default Vaniqa

Vaniqa worked for me too-really well. I am in Canada. I went to re-order and was told it was discontinued in Canada. I went online and learned that the company that manufactured it here -Shire-sold the rights to Vaniqa an another cream to a Spanish drug company Amirall. We can only hope that they decide it is worthwhile to sell it here in Canada.

If it doesn't pop up in Canada soon you might try www.inhousedrugstore.com until it does. I noticed some generic version of Vaniqa on there. I've bought my birth control pills through Inhouse for 8 years now and they have always been reliable. I started on some BCP out of US and really wanted to stick with them so I started buying them online and it was cheaper too. Every doctor I've had has been fine with my using InHouse (docs in US anyway) as long as I show them my meds and they know how much I'm taking.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately I checked they don't ship to Canada. I think our customs is so strict. My brother spends the summers in France though so I think I will try to send to have it delivered to him this summer. I will get a years supply or something.

By the way... there are different kinds of lasers. One HURTS like hell, and theres one that really doesnt.. its just a small stinging. That one worked for me (temporarily) and the other didn't.
