I am suffering my 8th loss...how much should 1 person be expected to endure?!?!
I'm so sad and angry and confused. I'm having my 8th miscarriage right now, and I hate my body and PCOS and everything right now. I have had 7 misgarriages between 5-9 weeks and 1 24 week loss. ITS NOT FAIR!!! I'm so tired of my body not working!! I'm tired of always grieving and losing my babies and never really being able to enjoy a bfp bc I know it'll end in yet another loss. How much can 1 person's heart take? I have 2 gorgeous living children, and I love them so much it hurts. But it doesnt take away the hurt of my 8 precious babies that aren't here now. I'm sick of being defective!!! I've had every test there is, and NO ONE can tell me why I keep losing my babies!!! NOT ONE DAMN DOCTOR KNOWS WHY. How can that be?? I've gone to specialists in Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia. No one can explain why I keep miscarrying. I WANT SOME ANSWERS!!! I also almost lost my 2 living children to pre term labor. I was on bedrest at 27 weeks with my son and 19 weeks with my daughter. I had cerclages, injections, all different meds to stop the labor. Why does having babies have to be so hard???? Why can teenagers pop em out left and right and we just keep losing them?? My heart hurts and I wanna yell and scream and cry and I WANT TO KNOW WHY!!!! But whats the point? Nothing will have changed. I'll still be broken and bitter. 8 losses....so many angels....

Natalie, I'm so sorry for your losses. I am suffering my 3rd loss and I feel like it is pushing me off the deep end, I can't even imagine 8. I understand how frustrating it is to search for answers and get none. I started seeing an RE after my 2nd loss and went through the repeat pregnancy loss testing and all came out fine. And here I am, miscarrying again. Can I ask, were all your losses after your 2 living children were born, or were they scattered in between their births? The reason I ask is I have a son who I had no problems with and all my miscarriages started after his birth when we started trying for #2. Good luck to you, I hope you are able to find some answers and your next pregnancy will give you a healthy baby. ((hugs))
Ihad 1 loss in highschool when I was 17. Then I had my son at 19. Then I had 4 losses from age 21 thru 27. Then I had my daughter at age 28. Then I have had 3 losses from age 28 (about 4 months after I had dd) through now, age 30. I wasnt even diagnosed with PCOS until 2005 (when I was 27). Its very maddening and scary and just not fair. I HATE PCOS. I really do. It makes you feel defective, broken, like less than a woman.

I am sorry for your losses. I can understand your feelings and thought I might offer up my experiences. I have had 6 early losses. They did find out that I have a homozygus (2 copies) of the MTHFR gene mutation but that was all they found during my recurrent pregnancy loss testing. Later they went on to say that I was ovulating late in my cycle and that my eggs were poor quality. Fast Forward a few years....And I had more testing done by my primary doctor whom specializes in PCOS. In this blood work I tested positive for Celiac Disease (an auto-immune disease). In the end...I quit smoking, I cut gluten out of my diet, changed the way that I was eating (more healthy and more frequent small meals), I exercised for 1-2 hours every evening, I decreased my stress level, and take my medications regularly. I ovulated like a normal woman on CD14 in 2 months with no fertility medication (Avandia for PCOS instead of Metformin) and got my BFP 3 days before my birthday. I don't know what exactly did the trick but I must have done something right. Like I said just my experience and if it helps you in any way, I'm glad. If not, it's just something to think about. And may God bless you and help you through your sorrow. I know it is not easy at all. But much sticky dust for the future!! xxHugsxx

I was going to mention some additional testing. You should be tested for Factor V Leiden and Prothrombin 20210 (blood clotting disorders) as well as MTHFR (folic acid deficiencies). Both genetic problems can cause miscarriages. Something to inquire about!

I have been tested for everything under the sun, in more than 1 state. I've always been told that the PCOS is more than likely the cause of all my m/c since every test keeps coming back normal. I was told I have unexplained pregnancy loss syndrome. Is that even real?? I'd never heard of it until they said I had it. My mom said that just means they're giving me a fancy name for something that they dont know the cause of. I guess when all else fails they make crap up, just to placate us. I hate that.

I'm so, so sorry for yet another loss. My heart is breaking for you (((HUGS)))
I presume you've had your progesterone tested as soon as you get a bfp? Also, have you had your estrogen levels tested in early pg as well? And you're a bit young, but there's no chance your mom was ever given DES?

As far as I know she never had DES. I've always had my progesterone checked and it has always been good. Thats why I get so down on myself. There's no medical reason for all the losses. No reason for my body to have such a hard time being pg. So it makes me feel like I'm defective somehow. There's no medical reason for it, so it must be me.

I'm convinced there is a link between the later IC and PTL losses with PCOS. Someday maybe they will figure that stuff out. Several of us around here have had both later and early losses, and it really strips a mother of hope. Both of mine happened while I had empty arms and was so horribly sad and lonely, so I was pretty hopeless. I wish you peace. (((Hugs)))
