My kitty! I know it sounds bizarre, but I really am. My cat Smudgie came into my life during a time when I was severely depressed. I had just lost my sweet Yoshi-cat only months after I had rescued him. I was at work one day when a lady came in with a tiny bundle of fur and when she opened her hands there was a teeny little black face staring up at me. Turns out the kitten was only 2 weeks old! I wound up doing the KMR Kitten Weaning Formula and carrying her with me everywhere because every time I tried to put her down, she would sink her tiny needle claws into me and shriek like a banshee.
This shedding beastie NEVER fails to greet me at the door when I get home from work, and never fails to snuggle with me when I just need warmth.
She doesn't judge or look at me oddly when I cry for no reason. She just climbs into my lap with a little "chhhrreuupp?" and purrs until the storm has passed.
Thank God for making kittens!

My cats eeke and smokey are the same. Whenever i"m down eeke snuggles with me and smokey isn't far behind. Usually they are very indepedent, but they know when their momma is sad. My dog does it too, but it's more comfortable to let the cats jump in my lap. My dog weighs 60 pounds!!!
I would be lost if it weren't for my pets!!!

Me too! I'd be lost without my kitties. We have 2 but 1 is really more "mine" and the other is more "DHs". RiffRaff (mine) is a purring machine and a great snuggler at night. He's my baby and will be even when this human baby arrives!
My weenie dog and the fact that I broke my toe BEFORE I had the baby. I am also thankful for the fact that my husband hasn't gone insane waiting on me and didn't kill me over the fact that we had to do two ER visits in the past week. What a nice DH!
What a great thread!!

Just last night I wrote in my journal, "...feeling thankful that i have kitties who like to be near mommy when she cries and don't really mind soggy fur." They're my babies...and I love them ever so much!

i love that so many women in here understand kitty love. i always had cats as a child because we lived on a farm. i had 1 very special cat though, i had just turned 18 and was going through diagnosis with pcos and some family dramas and i found this sweet little black kitten 1 day. i took him home and looked after him until he could eat by himself and he was a sweety. he had been a wild cat i think because he was only nice to me, he would scratch other people. he was a comfort during a difficult time. anyway things got better and i left for uni, leaving oscar at home in the hands of my little sister. sadly he was run over by a car and died when i'd only been away for a few months. my apartment just now doesn't allow pets but when i move next year i'll be getting a new kitten, but i doubt he'll be as wonderful as oscar.
