Default I am a vegetarian and Dh is not.

Any suggestions on vegetarian dishes that meat eater really like. He is always complaining about not having meat for dinner. I have even thought about trying to cook him meat but I just dont know. I have been a vegetarian since I was 13. I wish I could eat meat but every time I think or see meat it reminds me of a cute cuddley animal. This is also gonna cause some problems because I am pregnant and he thinks darling baby should eat meat I jsut dont know. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

There are vegetarian pregnancy websites you might want to check out. They will give you tips on what you need to include in your diet since you aren't eating meat.

My DH eats almost a completely different menu than I do, so he almost always fixes his own when he gets in from work. DD eats like I do, so I usually fix hers. It's best for you two to decide now how you are going to feed your child. No matter what you decide there are going to be those who question your methods, it happens to almost all parents. Getting on the same page now, will help things go smoother in the future.

Do you have a Whole Foods? They have some great veggie things for kids. DD loves the freeze dried fruit and veggies, which were a great substittue for sugary snacks during the toddler years.

DD ate almost zero meat during her first year of life. She just didnt' like it, and we felt it was better to give her more veggies and fruit anyways. She goes through periods where she would rather have whole grain pasta and sauce than meat. She picks the pepperoni off of her pizza, still, even though she will eat it alone for a snack. MIL said DH was almost the same way in the early years. What you serve your child, they will get used to. If you don't serve them meat, honestly they won't miss it (as long as you are providing enough protein and such from other sources). DD doesn't miss junkfood, though people are shocked at that. What they learn at home usually sticks.

Have you tried any of the mock meats? I am a huge fan of the Boca fake ground beef and breakfast links...the new Morning Star fake chicken & beef strips are AMAZING!!!

I use fake ground beef for lasagne, shepherds pie, tacos etc.
The Morning star strips are great in fajitas, salads, stir frys etc.
The breakfast links are DELICIOUS!!!

I've fed all of them to meat eaters, and everyone has enjoyed them.
It's a great way for PCOers doing low carb to have some variety....I use those products every day! haha

I've got a million other recipies, feel free to PM me if you would like some more ideas!
