So this is a bit of a rant....but about 2 months ago I found out that I was allergic to wheat...and black pepper, pork, string beans, cauliflower, carrots, yeast, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe & buckwheat. Yeah. A bit depressing. Besides the wheat thing....which is a total pain...those were a lot of my favorite fruits...and I loved black pepper as a spice. Well, if this wasn't frustrating enough, I found out a few weeks back that I have PCOS, and started on Metformin. Now I'm not supposed to eat rice or potatoes either.
Ground turkey and chicken breasts are good....but it would nice if every now and then I could eat something I enjoy. Going out is almost impossible...I'm so tired of eating a damn salad all time. I thought was still going to be able to do sushi but nooooo cause that has white rice in it.
This is just really frustrating. I am very health conscious, buy organic, eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit, don't eat fried things, get exercise....but even cutting all these things out and working out i am STILL not losing weight. That's probably the part that is making me the most annoyed. I really don't know what I am trying so hard for.
Also, since I started on the Metformin, I have had almost constant lower abdominal pain...has anyone else noticed this? Does anyone have any suggestions?
Wow, I can only imagine... I eat a pretty restricted diet too (no grains, beans, dairy, starchy veggies), but eating no berries must be hard ;-(
Still, there are lots of good veggies you can still eat... and I wanted to say that when you go out for sushi, you can get sashimi (fish without the rice) and seaweed salad. (Beware of the soy sauce however, it may have wheat in it.)
