Default I cant finish my prometrium cycle before af!

I'm supposed to take my prometrium for 14 days a cycle...ive done it three times now and each time my af has started around day 10.

I tried to finish the pills but my af was not stopping so i didnt bother. I wonder if i should keep taking the proms or just stop when af comes?

...which means if i do that i'll have to start them later in my cycle...

But i thought af didnt come til after the progesterone withdrawal...i'm getting af before i even stop taking it..is this normal?

This has happened all 3 cycles i've been on it...when i did provera i'd get af the day after i stopped, at 10 days.

Call your doc. I think they all have different opinions on whether or not to stop the med.

I also think it's normal for some women to get af before taking all the pills. Some of us (me thanks ) are still waiting 12 days after ending the stupid things. But I'm not impatient or anything .

Default what dose are ya on?

and how often do you take them? I used to take 200 mgs for ten days and get it the tenth day. On the 100 mgs I had to wait 10 to 12 days. It's how your body responds to it. I'm now on it for my endometriosis for the next two months steady, and will get breakthru bleeding whenever. Lucky me, NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I can't take provera, I get to hormonal. But my other option is not an option for me, as I want another child, and am afraid the chemical menopause won't end.

Take care,

I get the same thing, except more likely on day 4-9. My doc says to finsih the prometrium because it doesnt matter, altough i do not no exactly why it would not matter? lol, i mean AF is supposed to start after the body is "deprived" of the progesterone right? anyways......i just switched to met and am finishing off my last prom cyle (taking low met dose at same time!)
good luck to you!!

So my guess is it is pretty normal to start AF on day 10. I took Provera last time and it took 20 days after coming off to get AF and now today on day 10 of Prometrium I get AF?? But I'm happy b/c now I get to start 1st round of clomid!!
