Default I could just cry.

Just heard from my RE's office and DESPITE the progesterone suppositories I've been using for the past week, my P4 is still only a 7. The nurse said that I still could have ovulated but she wants to start me on a progesterone oil injection immediately. And she's already talking about what we'll do next cycle!

I'm so devastated. I could have sworn that this was it. I had an IUI and I even had EWCM the day after the IUI and so DH and I bd'd that night and again the next night and I was just SURE we'd caught that stupid egg.

Is it over or could there still be a chance for a BFP? I just want to curl up in a ball and CRY FOR HOURS.

You definitely still have a chance. Did you eat or drink anything before you had your blood drawn? There is some literature suggesting that if you eat before your P4 it can reduce the amount in blood by 50%.
I'm sorry you didn't get the results you wanted. Hang in there!

It might have affected it...BUT I have known women who had p4's at 7 and got a BFP. KUP, and sending you lots and lots of baby dust! It ain't over till its over, right?
Feel free to tell me the same thing next week when I have a crappy blood test and feel like you do right now. Ugh. Sometimes I wish we could just be kept in the dark about this stuff...but I'm too much of a control freak w/ myself to be that way.

It's my understanding that when you use progesterone suppositories the progesterone is hard to pick up on blood work because the progesterone is being absorbed where it's needed, not in the bloodstream.

Okay, I have now spoken with my RE AND her nurse and between that and all the help of you wonderful FABULOUS ladies, I'm feeling a little more encouraged. They both are confident that I ovulated, especially given that I did have EWCM the day after my IUI. She said that they have absolutely no reason to think that I'm not pregnant and that I just need to have this progesterone shot every day for the next week.

Then the kicker... if I AM pregnant I will have to continue this shot. Everyday. For the ENTIRE FIRST TRIMESTER. Can we please talk about how many shots that is?? Because I can look at a calendar and count and my butt already hurts just htinking about it.

This sucks, but everyone is right, still not over, still a chance--you'll be starting the shots immediately for a reason, after all. The only way I can deal with failure month after month is by focusing on what each failed cycle helps me learn. Every time you're perfecting the conditions, getting exactly the right combination of meds, shots, timing, and everything else you need to finally get a baby. So, even if this month is a bust, you know you're one more step closer to exactly the right regimen to get your BFP! But, yes, for now it still very much sucks.

You know... that is EXACTLY what I have to do too. I have to look at each cycle once it is over and I try to find two or three things that went well. And that way I won't let myself see them as failed cycles, just as steps in the right direction.

I can't start the shots until tomorrow because there aren't any pharmacies that actually stock it. Nice...

You know..we are still in our 2ww so hang in there! I read this wonderful quote on someones siggy that read: "Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow." This really encouraged me to look at the positive and keep trying so I thought I would pass it along...but this could still be the cycle for you!
