Default I could really use any help anyone can give

k,
So I was diagnosed with this when I was 13, and severely overwieght. Since then I have been countless brands of birth control pills (have been on yasmin for the past two years). I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 15. This started me trying every diet on the planet, and I mean every diet. In June of 2006 I was put on synthroid since the metformin wasn't doing anything for me. I had watched my calorie intake, exercised at least 1 hour 5x a week drank lots of water, and yet my weight stayed constant.
two weeks ago my doctor put me on Xenical (the prescription version of Alli,) and I have been having horrible side effects. I also started the South Beach diet at the same time and I am about to start phase two (letting whole carbs back in.)
Is there anyone out there that knows of any doctors that can help me? I am only 20 and I am tired of being a prisoner of my health problems. My dr. wanted me to drop 40lbs by the end of th summer, and I am aiming for 20, and then see how I feel.
I am at the end of my rope, constantly stressed with school and family, and I need get my health stuff under control before I graduate.
If anyone knows of Specialists in the Seattle area, I would be most appreciative.
thanks

I see two doctors to help with my PCOS and ovulation:

Gynecologist: Dr. Brenda Houmard, UWMC: 206-598-5500
and
Naturopath: Dr. Tammy Cullen, Fremont: 206-683-4495

I highly recommend you see a Naturopath for all the issues you mention. Traditional Dr.'s address "fixing" problems with medicines. Naturopathic Dr.'s address "fixing" problems with finding out the source and changing that. It's done wonders for my allergies, anxiety, and PCOS. Also, I know you have been up and down the road of diets, but please consider reading about the G.I. Diet. Rick Gallop has a book out. It's less about a regimen to follow and more of a formula to apply to your life in regards to ingesting food.

I also encourage looking at the Alternative Therapies message board on this forum.
