Default I cut my gum!!!

ACK! I was eating potato chips today and cut the gum inbetween my teeth. Besides the fact that it is painful and red and swollen and bleeding, it doesn't bother me so much. ha ha ha. How do I make this thing stop hurting???

I would go to the pharmacy and get something that you can use that will numb it. That's if it was bothering me that bad.

Hope you feel better soon

Something like Ambesol or Oragel should do the trick. You can get those over the counter.

There's some kind of mouthwash that they make for oral injuries, but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called. I think it might be "Peroxyl"

It's in a white bottle with a blue label. It has always helped me heal faster.

Whenever I have a mouth ouchie I usually swirl around some lukewarm salt water - not sure how bad your cut is. Luckily the mouth heals very quickly - see there is danger to eating chips....LOL

A day later and I can actually move my tongue around without being in pain! Let's just say I am not going to be eating potato chips for a very long time. I decided to go overkill in the hopes that something would help. So, I did mouthwash, salt water, and sucked on ice chips for like 2 hours. I also took a tylenol before bed to knock the pain. So something in that concoction seemed to do the trick cause I feel like I have an almost normal mouth again!
Good bye chips!

you can also rinse with half peroxide, half water rather than buying special rinse. it does the jobs and doesn't taste too terribly nasty. plus it's economical.

Dont know how to stop the stinging, but injuries in your mouth heal a lot quicker than other areas on the body! Should be better soon!
