Default i was diagnosed last week...

soooooo hi guys! how's everybody?
i was wondering..what went through your mind when your doc told you that you had pcos?
i was told 3 weeks ago by my gynecologist that she suspected me of having it..and what happened? i felt like it was the end of the world lol ..and then til last week it was confirmed and i felt normal..i'm like okay..what meds do i take? and i left happy as ever haha ..i had all these symptoms from thinning hair, acne, high cholesterol and troubles with losing the fat at my stomach..and now that it's confirmed i have pcos..i feel relieved that i know why i've been suffering from these symptoms. Anyhow, how did you gals take the news? and what went through your mind?

Another question, I'm going to start taking metformin and i've been reading that a side effect is losing weight..any of u gals lost weight? I'm actually really fit..except at my stomach..i look pregnant hahah if any of you gals lost weight, did u lose it at the stomach??

First welcome you are going to love the gals here! Being dx with PCOS can be very overwhelming. Being on Met takes some getting used to. So PCOS's do not have any side efects and others have to stop taking it all together. I was somewhere in the middle. After the first month my side effects leveled off. After almost two months I have lost 14 pounds and 37 inches. PCOS is so different for each of us, though we do have common symptoms and stories. It's an up hill battle but we are all here to support one another in our journeys!

You're like me I have the tummy problem to. I'm fit everywhere else. I'm just so glad I am tall.....if was shorter I would look like an orange witha tumour lol. A lady asked me when I was due? Instead of getting all upset about it I just said 11 wks. lol my bf was laughing his head off. I'm glad I got diagnosed, now I can get some help and there is a reason for my depression. All I was ever told is that it was a chemical imbalance now I know where it is comeing from. I've had the depressions since I was 12 and same with all my other symptons... thinging hair, acne you name it I got it. I know what you are going through......you're not alone

feel free to pm me any time.
