I diagnosed myself (huh!!!) Hello everyone, I am new to this site and I find it quite encouraging. I really just stumbled upon the site and glad I did. Well a little about me. I'm a married 34 year old woman with PCOS. When I was a teenager I grew a beard and had heavy periods, the doctors said it was my hormones. When I was 22 I got married a wanted to have children. I tried for 6 years only to discover my ovaries were filled with cysts and I wasn't ovulating. I asked the doctor if it could be PCOS because I had read so much about it and I had the symtoms and was finally diagnosed with it.
I was put on clomiphene citrate and got pregnant immediately only to miscarry. Five miscarriages later they decided to put me on Metformin. After 2 months of taking it, I became pregnant only to lose it. I became so desperate I was willing to try anything so the doctor put me on Gonal F injections. Once again I became pregnant and nine months later gave birth to a son. He is four now, and I said all that to say this, "Don't give up". Do your research, join support groups and prayer always help. My husband and I want another baby so I guess we are going to travel this long journey again but it is well worth it. I will keep you guys posted. |
