my hCG level came back today (they took it 2 days ago and it was exactly 2 weeks after my D&C) and it was 1,861. My dr. said he doesn't want to do another D&C and told me to come back in on Monday to see if it's going down at all. If it hasn't gone down any then I have to take some sort of med to make my uterus contract and expel the tissue. I can't remember what kind of med it is that he said. I just can't believe it, I'm still spotting (which is almost done by now...) and here I have the thought of more tissue coming out of me... And to top it all off, I only have a week left of BCP's and then I was expecting to get AF...who knows when that will happen now. And now I have to postpone going back to the RE until who knows when...

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

And to top it all off, we closed on our house 1 week ago and I've been dealing & packing and just found out that alot of home owners of this builder have had a TON of problems w/ their brand new houses so I'm afraid that we'll have to deal w/ all of this PLUS a home that has to be fixed all the time....this is just a bad time right now

I think the meds is a great idea...I think it's call demeth...blah blah blah...lots of people take to help the uterus contract to get things to move on a little faster. Hopefully that is all you'll need. Hang in there...

Hi angel...

Sorry you are dealing with all of this. Both times I delivered (mc's) my dr put me on something called Methergine to shrink the uterus... hope this helps...

I think the drug your doctor is talking about is methotrexate. I just had to take it for my suspected tubal pregnancy. It is a chemotherapy drug that dissolves rapid growing cells. They do these shots all the time and it is pretty safe. I had one shot in each butt cheek and I was able to go home after an hour. Other than being really tired for a few days, I had not side effects. Good luck.
