Im fairly new to TTCing. I just started seeing and RE in July 09 and have only done Clomid with some BW monitoring. I live in MASS and am very lucky to have insurance coverage at 100% for infertility (i DO realize how lucky I am and it wish it were the same for all of you!) My question is ... My RE has never monitered me with U/S to check my follies or anything. If you were me would you mention it?? this will be my 5th cycle on the clomid.

IMO Absolutely you should be checked! .. and it's an RE not an OBGYN? Is there another doctor in your area? Some women with pcos dont respond to meds and they need to be changed.. how does he know if you are responding and what your lining is doing without a look? Has your hubby had a SA? Maybe he feels he doesn't need to check those things since you have conceived twice... who knows.

On Clomid, many doctors don't do monitoring. It's probably just as common not to monitor as it is to monitor. Generally speaking, if you go the last two rounds of Clomid and get no success, then you may move on to monitored cycles, but it sounds like you're back at the beginning, and having some non-aggressive treatment (lucky!). Your BW monitoring is probably enough right now, as long as your E2 and P4 are responding normally, there's no real need to monitor just yet. My DH has not had SA yet. I did have a HSG done and that was normal. I guess it is a good sign that i did get pregnant even though it didnt stick. I just feel like im not doing enough?!!?

Have you asked them to monitor you? I was on injects & wondered why I was only getting b/w done & not u/s's done every time (I'm in MA too but my insurance doesn't cover 100%--only 80/20%! which is still great though) so they had me get an extra u/s b/c of my concern. If they're unwilling to monitor you, I would look for a new RE. Who are you seeing (if you don't mind sharing)?

I would definitely wanna be monitored if I were you. My RE starts monitoring on CD 11 and keeps monitoring me every few days so I know what is going on and when to trigger. If you are doing cycle after cycle of Clomid, you should def be informed of what is going on within your body. I would ask for more monitoring or try to find a new RE.
