Default I feel like I am bleeding to death!!! TMI

I am in the middle of a period induced by Provera. This is the fourth time I have had a period induced. Well, the period started on Monday, with barely anything. Then all of the sudden today, you would think I was dying. I changed a pad 3 times in a hour! I was working, and stood up and I felt like anything and everything had come rushing out of me. So, I went running to the bathroom (I had just changed a pad like 10 minutes earlier) and it was not pretty. I had huge clots and a lot of bleeding. This has never happened before. I have had clots, but not as big and never this heavy. Does anyone else have this problem? Why is my period all of the sudden heavy today since it is the fifth day? Does the clotting have something to do with the provera?

LOL Sorry I have to laugh becuz I am going thru the EXACT same thing right now....

Everything you described except this is my 3rd day of a Provera induced not the 5th...

I described it to my husband like this "It feels like there is a troll in there with dirty long sharp fingernails scrapin away in there !!"

So to make a long story short, YUP I have the same thing it sucks but I have no idea on how to make it shorter or go away ?
I was up 4 or 5 times last nite changing pads and now this morning its been twice already....

*sigh* whats a girl to do !!

Hope you feel better

I started my periods when I was 11, and I have always had a TON of bleeding and quarter sized clots all the time, even when I was 11. I had to take extra jeans and undies to school with me, and there were several times when my dad would have to pick me up cause I was bleeding all over the place. Imagine what it was like to have a boy come up to you and tell you that you have stuff all over your butt...thankfully boys were still pretty stupid then and thought I sat on something . I use super plus tampons combined with the overnight or long pads, and the tampons have never lasted 2 hours, and I am constantly running to the bathroom too. In fact, the bleeding after I had my baby was nothing compared to what a normal period is like. It is just a normal part of life. And for me, I take BC pills cause I do better on it, and the pill actually doesn't help the periods. HTH

This is my first post to this board, but I couldn't pass by this thread. I am undergoing test now for a diagnosis but am pretty confident that I suffer from PCOS.

I bleed much as you described. Everytime I would call my Doc to explain that I was loosing way too much blood I would get the usual "it just looks like a lot" crap. So I bought what is known as a Diva Cup. It is a menstral cup that works like a tampon but catches in the cup you flow and has measure marks. The typical woman bleeds 3 to 4 oz in a period. I bled that in the first hour. On the second day I called my Doc when I went over 12 oz and she was shocked. I was given hormones to stop the bleeding.
Hence why they decided I should have test ran.

I wish you luck in finding out why you bleed so much and how it can be controled!! You aren't alone!

So where do you buy the Diva Cup? I would be interested in knowing how much I bleed too.

I bought mine through this site:

http://www.sweettaters.net/store/

The cup was about $25 and has one year guarantee. I wish I would of bought one years ago.

When I was on Provera I did this exact same thing.

I would Stand up from sitting and GUSH. I would lay down and GUSH. I would cough and GUSH. I would lift something heavy and GUSH.

I brought extra clothes with me wherever I went. My husband nicknamed it the contingency plan.

I took 4 showers a day. And I thanked God that I worked from home. There was no way I could have held a dayjob. NO WAY.

You are not alone.

Just wanted to say i'm having that exact same problem and thought I was the only one. My period was induced also and the first two days were hardly any spotting, then you'd of thought someone slashed open my insides...I'm going on day7 now and it's still heavy. Mine have been very clotty as in I can feel them come out when I pee...(sorry, tmi) and they look like small apple sized..sorry, probably didn't need to know all that but I called mydoctor and the nurse said it's like that because I haven't had AF in so long it all just built up and will stop when my "insides" are empty...Hope this helps and didn't gross you out too much!!
