I feel strange posting this, but I'm hurting. (living child and m/c mentioned)
When I had my m/c back in 2004, I got a kitten about a month before my due date. He was something to hold on to when I thought about the baby and he became my little baby, if that makes any sense.
He has started having seizures and we know that there is nothing we can do and he needs to be put down. I've been dragging my feet about doing it because it makes me feel like I'm m/c all over again. It sounds so silly but I got so attatched to him when I was missing the baby I lost and it feels like they are connected somehow .
I have a dd now and I love her very much, but I still miss that first baby that I lost and I think about how she/he would have looked and acted, especially now that I see dd going through those same things.
I will miss him a lot but I think more I will miss the connection between him and my very much loved and missed angel baby.
Dani I know how you feel. My kitty was my "baby" when I had my stillborn, and after we adopted, she did not adjust well to sharing the spot light and I had to find her a new home. Not the same, but similar, I no longer have my furbaby.
I am so sorry for your losses.
Kath

We were just discussing this with Kim's dog's passing... there is too much fur baby sadness going around! I'm so sorry that your kitty has such a sickness, and I do understand the connection. Things and beings which we associate with that fresh grief can be very important long term. I hope that you and your family will turn to each other and cope with this. I personally find my DH to be very understanding and sensitive about this type of thing too, thank goodness.
Hugs to you!!

Thanks ladies for the encouragement. I still haven't made the appt yet but maybe this week I can. I'm hoping that I can find a time when dh can go with me so that I don't have to take him alone.
Dh will listen to me talk about this, but he doesn't feel attached to Ruffy like I do, or for the reasons I do. But I know that he will support me. Its nice to have all of you to come to for support too.
aww (((hugs))) im sooo sorry. My dog used to have seizers real bad ones, that was upsetting but the rspca done the deed for us he went to stay with actuall people who knew how to look after him and deal with the fits. He was on special tablets wich helped him live in peace for a bit longer. Im here to talk and hope everything goes as good as it can

Sorry to hear that. I did just like you. After my miscarriage (3rd), I got a dog. He is my baby and kept me from TTC for 1 year.
