Default I finally started AF!

I had to take Agestin (think that's how it's spelled) last month to have a period. I started met last month too. I thought for sure I wouldn't be having a period this month since I had a lot of cramping at the beginning of the month and no AF. Last night I got horrible cramps and when I went to the bathroom I realized I was starting! I'm so happy but not happy to be in pain! I take 1000mg a day and my doctor has said she is going to raise it eventually to 2000mg. Should I take 2000 if the 1000 is working well? I have lost about 14 pounds also and it seems the weight loss has kind of stalled. I haven't really been on a diet though. Just trying to eat less sugary foods and make sure I eat some protein with every meal.

Wow! Congrats!!! I've been on 1000mg met for 8 months now and it hasn't helped to regulate my periods, but has helped with my acne, and brain fog symptoms. It also helps out to regulate my blood sugar, and I don't get those high/lows like I did before. I know it's surreal to congratulate someone on having a period, but only us cysters know what it's like! Way to go!!! Glad the met is helping you out!!! Hope the cramping eases up and you can enjoy this AF 'au naturale'!!! (((HUGS)))

I've lost 14 pounds too! You go girl! Sometimes meds stale out, so you might need to be uped. They based the Met dosage off of your weight. Though if you get up to 2000 and the side effects are out of control (within a reasonable time frame) then maybe you can back down to 1500 and see how that works. I am on 1500 right now and have a docotrs appointment in two weeks. Doctor noted that she might up it, depending on how I am feeling and how my test results (IR, T, etc.) ome but witht he fast test.

I went to the doctor yesterday and she said she's gonna wait until Sept. and do some more blood work and then she'll see about raising my met. I am glad about losing the weight, but I have so much more I need to lose! Thanks for your support!
