Default I forget to take the met so often :(

I have PCOS and I am also dealing with Hypothyroidsm...

I am so overwhelmed and SOOOOOOOO tired all the time and seriously so tired that often I forget to take my medication. I am on 1500 of met and 50 mg of Synthroid. I am trying my best starting this week to take my meds when I am supposed to. Does anybody else struggle with this?

Do you always take your met with meals? Sometimes I forget but I am not sure if I can take it later if it is after a meal or not.

Am I the only one that forgets?

I would forget my Levo all the time. And have forgotten my Met once. But I read something about getting ovulation signs and then ovulation being delayed for various reasons, including not keeping up with necessary medications (I'm TTC, if you can't tell). So I take them everyday (not necessarily at the same time everyday), with a meal and then when I go to bed (most times on an empty stomach). I figure there's no point in TTC if I'm not going to do what I need to do make sure everything is in working order.

You have a great point! Yes I am starting to think about TTC and that is what prompted this post... I have done MUCH better this week because I know it can so easily affect my chances to concieve or keep the pregnancy if I get pregnant. THanks for making me think about that Hopefully It will keep me in line

I'm in the same boat. Although it's not that I forget it's more of a dread. I feel like i'm putting poision in my body taking it, even though I know it's not and it will only help me. Plus it makes me feel terrible once I take it and I know it takes time to get into your system but yet I still can't make myself take it. I'm not sure what to do.

Thankfully I never had any side effects so I was lucky. I think that it is a vicious cycle for me. If I forget my thyroid rx is a total downhill from there because I forget everything and I am so so tired... I forget to take it again and it only gets worse.... Seriously hormones really can make you loose it! It is just a big mess. I do feel SO much better when I am taking both the med and the synthroid. I would encourage you to take it. I was on met for about a week when I felt like a cloud had lifted from my head. If I could just take it ALL the time I am sure I would feel so much better. You really should try it!

for those of you on metformin that are EXTREMELY fatigued, i HIGHLY recommed taking a b-12 or b-complex supplement. Met. strips the body's
b-12 aka energy. I started taking a b-complex a few months about and within a week i had more energy than i've had in years, where as before i had to take 3 or 4 naps just to make it through the day. And what's better is the b-12 you don't need the body just excretes it in urine, so it's impossible to take too much. good luck.

I read your thread and it sounded like me up until just a year ago. New doc new dose of met and this time she started me again on met XR. I for years would miss a dose here and there sometimes for a month or more ect. Then i decided to take all my met @ night. Well the problem was that I was taking regular met not XR. So i was getting my control @ night while i was sleeping.. What the heck did i need that for lol So i went to see this new endo and we discussed that and how it was easier for me to take all my meds @ night 10pm bedtime vs throughout the day. So she put me on Xr and said take the @ the sametime everynight. And for 4months i haven't missed a dose!!! Way outta norm for me!
So maybe might i suggest trying that. Met Xr itself is so much nicer to your system then regular met. And the B complex take that for sure! My doc that gave me my first bit of met 7yrs ago said to make sure i take that.
Good Luck to ya. hope you get things figured out.
