Default i got vaniqua updated with question????

was at dr yesterday, and i asked about vaniqua ( think it may have another name also) it has only just come over to the uk in the past year i think and i think some women have trouble getting it, but i have such a lovely gp and she had no problem with me trying it. hoping it will slow down the hair growth, have also found out about an anti androgen called cyprotereone acetate which i might ask about if vaniqua does not work well, i dont want to take the pill as they dont tend to agree with me. so hoping this will help lots

I've had that for a few years now. I was given it while I waited for laser. It was great for me, which is just as well as the effects of the laser have just about worn off now and I can't afford any more! I am just about to go back to vaniqua.
I hope it works as good for you!
It feels a bit horrible at first and I was very frightened that I would get it on my pillow and then on to my already thinning head hair!!
That tells you how good I thought it was!

I remember hearing Dr Chris on Richard and Judy talking about the other drug you mention, and I found a magazine article and took it to my gp. They gave me spiro instead, not sure if they are related or if they just don't give the other stuff to women.

Good luck with the vaniqua, keep us posted!

I think they usually give CPA as part of a birth control pill (Diane or Dianette). You might have better luck with a prescription for spironolactone if you want an antiandrogen without any hormones. (Although spiro without the pill can mess up your periods.)

Hopefully the Vaniqua will take care of it and make the antiandrogen question moot.

i also just got this a few weeks ago ... so far i am noticing it grows slower, but in a way it's bad .. casue the hair would usually poke threw over night and i can pluck it in the morning... but now it kinda just sits on the surface for a few day, but you can still see the little black dot ... does that make sense? .. i am going to use the whole tub before i make and final decision though

do you get acne with vaniqa.... i dont know if its because i had just had my period always get a good few spots around that time.... and they were worse than normal but didnt seem to settle... so i am stopping using it for a few days to let my skin calm down see if it will flare it up again i hope not.... as atleast i can bleach trim and pluck the hair so it can be disguised. might have to try another route
