Cool I guess I shouldn't have rescheduled that appointment

My primary doc suspected PCOS in December and ordered a ovarian sonogram. They didn't find a bunch of little cysts like they were expecting, but did find a 3 cm cyst on my left ovary. He referred me to a gynocologist and wanted me seen in the next month. Her first available was 2 months away. She then called and needed to reschedule. I teach and am almost out of sick days so I moved that appointment to Spring Break. My primary doctor seemed surprised when I told him it didn't hurt. It didnt' then, but it sure does now! It has hurt for the last 4 days. Would ovulation make that cyst hurt like that? It's bad enough that if it had been a right sided pain, I probably would have gone to get my appendix checked.

Can you not call her back and see if she can move it?

I suppose I could, but I am out of sick days at work and will get docked at a pretty stiff rate. It's better today so I'll just stick it out.

I am by no means a doctor but, a couple of possibilities come to mind when I read your post.
1. The cyst could have ruptured causing the sudden increase in pain that you feel.
or
2. A new cyst could possibly be forming causing the pain.
or even
3. Some women can experience ovulatory pain that is associated with a 'cyst of sorts'. This stems from a follicle (which is essentially a cyst) that ruptures and releases an egg. (and walla ovulation)

In anycase it the pain continues you should most definately call your pcp back and get in right away if the OB/GYN can't get you in.
Good Luck
