It's midnight, I can't sleep and just need to chat I think.
I have a lump at the top of my right breast. Really big, very hard mass. Painful as heck! It makes my breast, chest and arm all hurt on that side.
My appointment for an ultrasound and biopsy was this morning. They took two samples from it. That wasn't a pleasent experience at all. Now we wait for 5 days before we get any test results back.
Needless to say, I'm stressed and scared.
I have actually had this lump for about 3 years. I had it checked out when I first discovered it, but it was also very small and didn't bother me a bit. The ultrasound showed nothing for concern then.
It's almost doubled in size now and is painful, which can't be a good sign. Not to mention another lump appeared on my back recently, as well as on the same side I have a mole that has started bleeding.
I have no idea what to think. I know that the chances of it being cancer are lower then it being something else, but that doesn't make it any less scary.

Many cysters also have fibrocystic breasts, which basically means lumpy breasts. I have it although it doesn't hurt it is just a different texture. I think everything is going to be A-OK positive attitudes only missy! I'm not sure all the other problems you are experiencing are associated with your breast, I think you just very scared..good luck hun keep us updated and let us know how everything turns out!

i just wanted to say that you are doing the right thing getting it checked out, and any doctor worth anything will consider any lump serious enough to biopsy. in this case it is guilty until proven innocent. they also have to be serious about it because most people would sue their arses off if they didn't investigate thoroughly, so don't be freaked out if they mention birad4 or whatever - it basically is suspicious until proven otherwise, but 80% of lumps are benign.
i don't know if your doctors mentioned fibroadenomas to you, but they are the most common kind of lump for people in your age group (i have several of them in both breasts) and they can grow pretty large over the years. they are even becoming more common in people who are going through menopause because of estrogen therapies. here is a link to some information about fibroadenomas. they can even be pretty tender depending on where they are situated.
