I'm hoping that it shows cysts on my ovaries. I still haven't been diagnosed with PCOS, but I am sure I have it. I see my gyno on Jan 21st again, so I'm hoping I can get an official diagnosis so I can stop worrying so much about what is going on with me.
How many of you were diagnosed after the trans-vaginal ultrasound?
I was dx'd before, but I just wanted to say that not all of us have polycystic ovaries. I don't, but I still have PCOS. Cysts are just one of the many symptoms of PCOS.
Good luck!

I had it done and the technician was telling me what she saw as she was doing it. Counting the cysts and told me how large my ovaries were. But like the pp said, you don't have to have cysts to have PCOS, it's just one of many symptoms.

i was diagnosed from my blood tests and had an external ultrasound as a formality. The doctor said that my ovaries were very symmetrical lol i thought everybodies were!?
I had one (which was a little traumatic as I'm a virgin and until then (surprise!) had an intact hymen. Yech), and was diagnosed afterwards. But I told the technician what I suspected and said I knew she couldn't diagnose me or anything but did she see anything that might support said suspicions. (Her response: the French equivalent of 'oooh, yeah')
Whenever you have something like that done to you, don't hesistate to ask about it. It's your body, and usually if you are understanding (ie, know that they can't tell you anything definitely without risking being sued, and tell them so) they'll give you the information you want.
...I've had a dye check to see if my fallopian tubes are ok - check, the scan your referred to, I think I had (confused as so many types!) this to check my uterus is normal - check ok too. My last appt with specialist (not sure if gyno or endocrine expert - will ask at next appt) - now awaiting last blood test for FSH level on day 2 of cycle, which I think is to see if i have ovulated? My next appt also End Jan...likely to go onto Clomid as ttc ...fingers crossed
Any more tests due do you reckon? I agree it's so confusing!
We were diagnosed before we ever had an ultrasound... had some b/w that did not show IR, but maybe other things. Definitely did see Polycystic ovaries on all ultrasounds.
