Default I HATE THE HAIRY FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what is happening with me, but when I first started Met, I noticed that my hair growth slowed down a bit. Now I look like an ape. My chest, and face are so bad. I hate it!! I hate this bloody syndrome. Why do we have to suffer from it. I hate being fat, I hate knowing I will always need help to have a child, and I hate knowing that one day I will die of some thing related to PCOS!!!

One thing I am embarrassed with this thing is I don't like going to the dentist. Not in fear of the drill, but the light shining on my face so my hair growth is visible.

Will met work eventually on the hair growth. I feel so ugly sometimes.

Hi

((hugs)), I can understand how you feel.

Well, my Endo told me that Met could help with the 'hair' but would take about 6 - 9 months to help. Have you been able to have some Spiro - although, saying that, you can't have Spiro if ttc.

I totally understand what you mean about the Dentist. I feel the same way.

hth

Default Aldactone might help

I am getting really hair all over my face (my chin hairs are not just on my chin anymore - they're sprouting up all over!)

My doctor (general practitioner) won't prescribe me metformin neither would the reproductive endocrinologist who my doctor sent me to see. I am awaiting an appointment with a "regular" endocrinologist in late march.

To make matters worse, the head on my hair is falling out. I am now taking 50 mgs of aldactone. This is perhaps something you could ask your doctor about. It has anti-androgen affects so it may help with hair loss and unwanted hair growth on the face and body. My doctor also mentioned that it is good for high blood pressure (which I also have). He told me that it takes about 3-4 months to see results on Aldactone. I know the waiting sucks but at least it gives me a shimmer of hope.

Good luck!
*hugs*

Hi Kelley -
I was on 50 mg for quite a while 5 years ago and it did nothing. On 100 mg 3 years ago I ovulated for the first time in years. I recently went from 100 to 200 mg, after 6 months on 100 mg. On 100, it didn't get worse. On 200, I've noticed I can tweeze every few days, where it used to be much more often. Check with your doc about the dose
