Unhappy I Hate Leg Hair!!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody here have the problem of leg hair growing at phenomenal speeds?! I have this problem. I'll shave in the morning, and by afternoon, my extremely coarse hair is poking through my skin already....Is this due to the extra testosterone???? I've been battling this since puberty.....Help??!?!?!?

I have hairy legs. I used to shave everyday, but I have gotten a little lazy unless I am wearing shorts. I don't have high testosterone. I do shave my pits everyday, because it grows faster up there than my legs. Dh complains about the forest on my legs if I haven't shaved in 3 days.

I just did a search online, and all of those hair removal things are under the category: epilator

They hurt like the devil the first time, but it gets easier each time. Your legs will stay smooth and hair free for weeks.

Epilator ... Epilator ... Epilator ... ( a cyster's best friend)

I can totally sympathize. I also used get alot of ingrowns after I shaved. About 8 or 9 years ago I started to get my legs waxed. I swear by it now. It makes alot easier, especially in the summer. The first time hurt like hell! Now a days, it's a breeze. Also, my hair comes out very sparse. I actually shaved twice in a row recently and my hair came back very slowly. Not only that, but my legs look smooth and healthy after a wax.

KatCarney:

Hi! Has the product changed? I bought it when it first came out... it was like coils or something. It sucked! I have a high tolerance for pain and remember that the coils would rip each hair out one by one... not like, in a 'group'! As hair as I was, I could not handle it! LOL.

I had one of the original ones, too - it was pure torture!

The newer ones have these fast spinning rotary discs. It still smarts (especially the first time) but the pain is NOWHERE near that of the original Epilady.

You can see a picture of what they look like now:

The brand I have isn't there...I think it's a braun.

Does it really hurt less when you use it again? I tried once and I didn't even finish one leg becauseof the pain! And I'm usually not so chicken about things being painful...

It was awful! I'm almost afraid to use the thing again... *lol*

Yes! It was! Especially on course thick hair. My hair is nowhere near as course now, I may give it a try. I will probably still be a chicken though. With waxing, large areas are covered at once. That makes it very tolerable.

Thanks for the link. Ebay has some of the old torture coil styled Epilady's on sale! I think I cringed when I saw them!

WAY less. It grows in MUCH finer, and not all at once, so you're dealing with less hair. If you're consistent with it, by the 3rd time it doesn't hurt at all. You 'feel' it, but I wouldn't describe it as 'pain'. The old epilady was unbearable. It made me cry...

The actuall work best on coarse hair, imo. The key to getting nice and smooth with minimal pain is to hold your skin taught.

I'll just have to brace myself and get to the 3d time then
*stares at epilator*
I will, I will, I swear!

*sigh* the bikini season can be so painful for us PCOS ladies...
