I am having huge issues with my "stubble" I use Sally Hansen hair remover for the face, and it does OK, but when it grows back it's not soft. When I run my tongue over my upper lip it feels kinda stubbly within like 48 hours.
My question is, is there anything else I can do to keep it from growing in so stubbly feeling? Should I try waxing instead? I can't afford laser so that is out, but are there any other creams that work better maybe?
Thanks for any help you guys!!!

All I can say is...ooops, we're having a Red Sox bebe!
Hi Julia! I use the same thing so I know what you mean about the stubbly feeling. Mine is only soft for about 1 day. Then I have to start plucking for maintenance. I have no advice for you though, but I did want to offer you support. Maybe someone else will have some good advice for both of us. I am so frustrated with that symptom of PCOS. Next to infertility, it's the worst!
Good luck!

Isn't this the worst? I HATE it. I don't remember having to use anything to remove hair the entire time I was on the pill, but once I came off, my stache started growing like crazy.
I hope someone else can offer some advise for us! I have a feeling I'm going to resort to waxing. I am going to ask my doc to prescribe me some Vaniqa too!

Dear Julia---I'm currently waxing right now and it keeps the area smooth for about a week or so for me. The pain really stinks though. It's my chin area I worry over......it's not so easy to wax that and it comes back stubbly on me even when I do wax it. I need to find something to take care of that but as far as the stache try wax it works for me. sarl
wax is the best...im smooth for about 2 weeks at a time.. i use nads on my face

I did not really have a good experience with waxing. I hated the fact that you had to wait for the hair to grow to a certain length before you could even be able to wax it. Nair doesnt work for me either because I would be really stubbly and it would miss so much. I have actually had to resort to shaving. I talked to my doc about it and he said go ahead and continue to shave if thats what I have been doing. He said that the meds that he will put me on will help to get rid of it and if not there is always laser. I want it to go AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

i shave and do laser now, i waxed for years, and bleached too. i really like shaving because like you mentioned, sometimes hair grows back stubbly, so if its going to anyhow, i may as well shave every day rather than wax and have to let it grow out.
Have you tried SurgiCream? You can buy it at any drugstore. You just put on the cream for like 8 minutes then wash it off, and rub this cucumber balancing lotion on the stubble free area, and it is $cheap
I have to do this with my upper lip every 3-4 days.
I'm forced to shave as my hair is black, thick and nasty, and I have fair skin, so it's very visible. It grows fast too, so I have a shadow by mid afternoon.
Some of the girls recommended the Gillette Mach 3 razor (apparently men's razors are better than women's - bloody typical!) so I bought one today to try it.
I can say though, exfoliating before you shave REALLY helps. It seems to enable the blade to get closer to the hair and opens up the pores and prevents ingrowns. It certainly works for me.

I've been using Mach 3 for years. It is better than most womens razors out there. It doesnt grow back quite as fast.

well damn blody hair is right! lol I use that Venus razor but refills are 8 bloody bucks!
I never tried the Mach, I'll give it a go for my legs one time..
Mach 3 turbo i found was the best for me. Along with Avenno positively smooth facial cream. That was the best combo until i started laser. I know the refills are expensive but the result is far better than w. cheap disposable razors which cause major razor burns....

Wowzers, that's the price in Canada!!! I went to price the Mach's and I can't even afford that right now so I'll keep using my venus, but I did afford some Skintimates nice shaving cream lol
