Does anyone know if bcp can cause migraines, or...for loss of better words...a raging lunatic? I just started a new bcp and it doesn't seem to be doing much good. Just wondering.
Thanks!

That is interesting. Kat's much more on the ball than me. I was just going to say that anything that messes with your hormones can alter your emotions and cause a wide variety of other side effects.
Hope that gets better for you. BCP never helped my PCOS much. I started them when I was a little under 13.
I take Alesse, the BCP with the most irritating commercials and advertisements I have ever seen.....LOL. I just started taking it in December 2005.
Way before Alesse, actully, a few years ago, I was on Diane -35. Diane -35 was prescribed to me by my doctor because it is good for bad acne and hair loss (both of which I have). I was hopeful, but Diane -35 turned out to be my worst nightmare. It gave me headaches and made me a raging hormonal psycho! I was even yelling at my boss, telling him where to go and hanging up on clients at work... It was terrible! And it gave me really bad depression. I was on it for a month and went to the doctor to tell her about the side effects and she told me to stop taking it and that in her practice alot of her patients taking Diane -35 had the same kind of side effects. I was mad that she didn't tell me before hand so I stopped seeing her and see someone else now.
I have found Alesse to be very friendly to me so far. I have had no headaches with it and it is actually clearing up my skin. Now if it would only make my hair grow in.... LOL. I swore off BCPs after Diane -35, but a new gynecologist I saw in late November, 2005 wanted me to try Alesse and so far, I am glad I agreed.
If you don't mind me asking, what BCP are you on and how long exactly have you been taking it?

Yes, it can make you into a raging lunatic. I was an absolute crazy woman when I was on OrthoTriCyclen (regular and low). I did insane things like stand in front of cars when my boyfriend was trying to leave to avoid fighting with me. My mood swings were all over the place. Once they took me off Ortho and put me back on Lo-Ovral, I became a totally different person.

I noticed that you took Ovidrel. How many times did you have to do the trigger shot? Did you have any side effects?

Ortho Tri Cyclen (or any triphasic) has unopposed estrogen for part to most of the cycle. Estrogen is what causes the raging-lunatic moods, bloating, weight gain, etc. Pills that are unopposed (see above) or just plain high in it (like Diane 35, Patch, etc) are more apt to cause those types of symptoms. I was INSANE (and fat and spotted) on Ortho Tri Cyclen. Could you try the ring instead--it's supposed to be lower in estrogen?
