i have pcos iam on provera is it good??

I HAVE PCOS IVE BEEN TO MANY OBGYN AND I HAD 4 MISSCARGES INEED TO VENT!!! I WAS SENT TO A OBYN SCHOOL KINDA DOCTOR THING AND THEY PUT ME ON PROVERA I LOOKED IT UP AND HEARD BAD THING THE ONLY SIDEFFECTS I GET IS HEADACHES AND NUBNESS MY DOCTOR TOLD ME BECAUSE OF ALL THE BITHCONTROL METHEDS THEY TRYED ON ME I GOT BLOOD CLOGS AND I THINK I WONT GET PREGNET AGIN I LOS TWINS 12WEEKS AND THE OTHER 1S WERE 8 TO 6 WEEKS I... WANT TO HAVE A BABY SO BAD MY BEST FRIEND HAVING HER 1ST AND IAM MAD AT MY SELF MY HUSBAND TAKES BLAM FOR OUR LOSS CAN ANT 1 REALTE AND IS PROVERA GOOD?? DOES IT WORK AND IAM VERY DEPRESSED AS YOU CAN TELL HELP ME I HAVE NO FRIENDS ITS HARD TO TALK ABOUT MY PCOS WITH MY HUSBAND HE DOESNT UNDER STAND I WAS NEVER FAT TILL I LOST MY VIRGITY TO MY HUSBAND AND I I GOT PCOS WHEN I HAD MY 1ST MISSCAGE I NEED TO TALK TO SOME ONE I TRY A THRIPEST AND LOSS CONCLING DONT WORK I DONT HAVE ANY 1 TO RELATE I FELL LIKE GIVING UP REALYY ..... I CRY EVERY DAY ....

I am sorry that you are having to go through this. I myself have been through this and am now blessed with 2 miracle babies. I call them my PROGESTERONE BABIES. Without it I wouldn't have them.

I don't like Provera, it is NOT Progesterone. It is NOT safe during PG either. The pill you should ask for is Prometrium.....200mg used vaginally is a great dose. It will help with your luteal phase and to prevent m/c in early PG.

I also use the cream that you can buy at health food stores when PG. The more progesterone the better. Progesterone stops CTX and keeps the uterus soft and also helps the baby to develop better.

Ask for Prometrium it IS progesterone and not man made...the side effects arent as bad either. Google the difference between provera and prometrium to see what I am talking about.

Also to stop the m/c I would continue using the progesterone through 37wks of PG. I know most OB's say that you can wean off it around 12 weeks but in my case, I stopped at 25 wks and labor started at 26 in first PG, and in second PG I stopped at 35 wks and labor started at 36 wks. My aunt used it and she stopped at 29 wks and started labor at 30 wks. Personally, I will use it till 35 wks because in me I know it works. My babies are super healthy on it and even though they were early at 37 wks they looked term. Perfectly healthy and got to go home next day.

So ask for prometrium, you will see a difference trust me. -Terra

I have been through this also, somethings husbands just don't want to talk about. I have your same problem, they put me on provera and what you have heard is true it can cause certain types of cancer, BUT ONLY IF YOU ARE ON IT FOR ALONG TIME. You just started it so you will be fine, it does help tho. I have 1 miracal baby and they said I would never have children....they were wrong, I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter and if they say you can't have any more babies, they are wrong, God determines when you have them. Don't give up, I didn't and I was rewarded. I wish you all the best and hope you have a little one soon. God bless!!

As they always say, everyone is so different. I took provera a couple months ago.. zero side effects and got my AF soon after.
