Dee: Met has done wonderful things for me, but the 2/3 month timeline is, to be honest, MALARKY. Maybe this is the case for some women whose hormones are easily fluctuated or close to normal, but I am SO TIRED of the medical community putting such an unrealistic timeline on the drug. My OB/GYN made me feel like a failure for not having results within 9 months, and that is ridiculous. I refuse to minimize my success becuase it didn't happen in a convenient little window of time.
Most of these things you mentioned have improved GREATLY for me on Met. But it took over a year before my periods regulated and it has had NO effect in 2 years on my facial hair. My weight loss barely began my first year on the drug..it wasn't until the second year of Met (with diet and exercise changes) that I saw significant weight loss, changes to my bloodwork, slowing in my loss of hair (although this was never a huge concern to me since I have really thick hair and didn't have any thin or bald spots).
My signature talks about the incredible changes Met (and other lifestyle changes) have done for me. Met is a miracle for many of us. But that miracle, for me, did not include a tidy timeline.
Your body may get worse before it gets better on Met, but try not to get discouraged. That means the drug is doing the job it is supposed to do....moving those hormones. Give your body the time it needs to fix itself and not be discouraged by schedules that are unrealistic. Hormone overhauls take time and every body is different. Met can be a miracle for you, but for most of us, it is a time consuming one.
Wishing you much success!
