Default I hope this helps!

My gyn had me ask by endo about met. He told me that it wasn't a treatment option for me and that spiro is all that I need. When I went back to my gyn I repeated what my endo had said. I told her that I was seriously considering a new endo (not just because of the met). She told me that she could handle all of my PCOS problems until I was TTC, and then there are a couple of reproductive endos in her group that could see me. Well, I love my gyn so she's my main doc for PCOS now. And, I got my met prescription! I just took the first pill. I'm a little concerned about the upset stomach aspect, as I have a very sensitive tummy. I'm doing 500 1x day for seven days...then (if I tolerated that) 500 2x day for seven days...then 500 3x day for seven days...then onward to the XR. If you have any advice, please let me know! I hope this helps!

Oh my gosh! That sounds so familiar. I was seeing a fertility endo and she dx me with PCOS and then did nothing (like labs for blood sugar levels!). She gave me Clomid. I asked her about Glucophage and she said I didn't need it since I got a period (like every 45 days!). She only gives it to patients with no period. The Clomid was unsuccessful. Then I had a lap to see if I had endometriosis. I had a little of that. But I asked her again about Glucophage and she said no again. So, I went to a regular endo who did the labs that I should've had a year ago, dx me with insulin resistence, and now I am on Merformin (only for a week now). It's frustrating that nothing was done a year ago! Now I bring research articles to some of my dr appts. Some of the docs just aren't up on the latest information.
