Exclamation I just don't know what to do anymore

Im hoping that someone outthere reads this and is able to help me. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 17, I'm now 22. And i've YET to find a doctor that can help me. Over the past three months, I've had my period, emmense pain, I've gained the weight back that I lost, my facial hair is just getting worse. I was told my uterus lining is at 23% when a normal womans is 3/4%. I never had all of these symptoms at once and am worried that my PCOS is getting worse. Quite frankly, I'm getting scared.
All of these symptoms are making me depresssed. I started seeing a specialist and she threw me on a bunch of medications (glucophage, prednisone, aygestin). The bleeding stopped for about three weeks and started again. I thought about getting a 2nd opinion, but I've already tried 6 different doctors. It's getting to the point now where I just want to give up. Having pcos has become such an inconvience and I don't know how I'm supposed to go on living my life normally.

If there's anyone out there that has similar issues, or happens to know a good doctor where I will get results, please get back to me ..... ksciortino@bobwagner.com

Thank you so much!

Katrina,
I am also 22... but I just found out about PCOS in Nov.
I'm sorry that you've had to go thru so many Drs, I am on my 2nd and hoping to stay with him. But honestly, you've got a lot of life ahead of you to deal with this, better get a good Dr on your side even if it takes 10 tries!! When you find one it will be worth it. Have you been going to Gyno's or RE's ?? I switched from an OBGYN to a RE and have felt so much better about this. Don't give up!!!! What area are you in?

GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey, Katrina! This is THE place to be! Don't get discouraged. I know it's frustrating, but you have to keep looking for a doctor who knows PCOS and can help you. Have you looked at the doctor's link on here? I think you'll be able to find someone in your area. Don't give up...you've got a long way to go and the health risks associated with PCOS are too great to ignore it. Trust me, it isn't going to go away on it's own. If you ever need to chat, email me anytime.

Hang in there!

Default i know how you feel

I know how you are feeling. PCOS is a pain in the butt. It is most important to find a good Dr. I recommend one who is actually a fertility specialist or an endocrinologist. THe symptoms of PCOS are awful from the hair on the face, weight gain, painful periods etc. There is no cure for PCOS, but it helps to manage your periods and hormones. The pills you mentions are familiar ones in this room. Infortunately, we just have to learn to deal with PCOS. Do you plan on having children? If so, and you don't have any yet, get used to PCOS, it will affect you getting pregant. I know this isn't the most positive post, buthang in there.
