Angry I just don't know what I can do anymore...

Hello all,

I've posted before about my initial experience with Cerazette (75mg desogestrel) and I also have a copper IUD.

The truth is, I just feel rubbish. I've made an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning, for advice and hopefully a good solution. I'm onto my 3rd month of this pill, and I thought things were getting better, but right now I'm finding the contant spotting, acne and bloated tummy is getting me down. I feel lethargic and have these awful spots all over my face. I was on Minocycline antibiotic which cleared them up, but finished the course and now I look like a complete mess. Painful, red, sore, won't heal....so going to ask for the antibiotics again.

The other reason I'm writing this is because I want to know if anybody has been allowed to take the combined bc pill after reporting migraines. Not with an aura, but intense headaches that make you feel sick and dizzy and last hours. It's the reason I'm on Cerazette, well that and my PMS and awful periods. I think I felt better before though!

I'd happily continue on Cerazette if things settled and my skin turned back to normal, and my hair wasn't so greasy and dull. The spotting and bleeding is inconvenient, and although there's not much coming out, the cramps can be awful.

Really sorry to go on. I'm just feeling lost and need some hope! I might beg for a lower does combined pill like Mercilon (Mircette), but I doubt I'll get it. I'm partly tempted to wait it out with Cerazette but I don't want to be feeling like this for a year and then get a positive result. They say wait 3 months, but in reality it can take a whole year for the good side effects to kick in.

Right, rant over. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This site keeps me sane!

Best wishes xxx

Thumbs up Just an update - may help you if you're in a similar way

Hey,

So I went to the doctor this morning and basically he said that if any medication makes me feel ill and gives me more problems than I had before, it just isn't worth putting up with! So I'm stopping Cerazette, will see how I feel in a few weeks and then will see the doctor again. And he was perfectly happy with my IUD, not like some who are against them.

I'm looking forward to feeling better and more like myself again! Also put on 6kg which isn't good, I will try hard to shift that plus the rest. I think I do better on my own.

xx
